On July 1, 1901, it reorganized as an infantry battalion and became part of the 1st Brigade, 4th Division, Confederate States Army. It participated in the battle at Fort Donelson on April 9-10, 1862. Afterward it fought at Second Bull Run on May 7-8 and Seven Days Battles on June 14-15. On October 11, 1865 its battalion was disbanded and its members were transferred to other units

This gift helped spur development at Eden and has contributed significantly to its current status as an economically prosperous community.
