Rifle scopes have been a part of the American shooting experience for centuries. The first rifle scopes were crafted in the 16th century and became popular with early European shooters. Rifle scopes continued to be produced until the late 19th century, when firearms began to evolve and new technologies emerged that made rifles much more powerful and accurate. Rifle scopes continued to be produced through World War II, but production was discontinued in 1945 because of the advent of television technology. Today, rifle scope manufacture continues primarily in North Carolina, where many manufacturers offer high-quality products that are still used by shooters nationwide. The history of rifle Scope manufacturing begins with two Dutchmen named Andreas Voormand and Hendrick de Valk who founded a company in 1623 called "Voormand & de Valk". This company manufactured rifles and other sporting goods including pistols and shotguns. The first rifle scope was created by these two men as a way to improve accuracy on target games using their personal rifles. In 1795, Abraham Lincoln visited Holland and saw some Voormand & de Valk scope products before returning home to America. Lincoln ordered a pair of these optics from this same company, which he used during his famous 1858 “ Gettysburg Address” speech whileserving as president of the United States! In 1876, John Clements & Sons began producing rifle scopes under their own name within a year of starting business. This company would become one of the most successful firearms companies in America due to its quality products and innovative designations for its Scopes: variscope (1881), reflex (1892), Schmidt & Bender (1909), Swarovski (1920), Burris(1940). After World War I ended in 1918, many European retailers stopped selling military equipment because it had become surplus supplies from World War I. However, North American producers did not lose interest in making effective rifle scopes until after World War II started in 1939! At this time however there were only three types of sniper rifles available on the market: bolt action sniper rifles such as those chambered for 7mm Mauser cartridges or 8x57mm Luger rounds; centerfire assault weapons like Winchester Model 1400 pump-action shotguns or Colt Peacemaker revolvers; or any weapon chambered for .30 caliber ammunition! As soon as newly developed breechloading rifles emerged such as Springfield Armory’s M1 Carbine (.30 caliber) users quickly adapted traditional Weaver style turrets onto their weapons mfg’d at Springfield Armory between 1941-1945 called universal mounts! This type of mount allowed different calibers (.308 Win., 7mm Remington Magnum etc.) down into 6 round magazine slots carried on either side allowing quick interchangeability without having to remove entire barrels! These mounts allowed infantry units throughout Europe to use hunting buddies’ bolt action snipers/centerfire assault weapons with greater accuracy than ever before possible!

During much of its early history Raleigh dates only to 1792 when Englishman James Moore discovered rich coal seams while prospecting for gold near present day Garner, North Carolina However some may argue that Raleigh actually wasn’t founded until after Johnson’s Creekou Massacre on October 11th 1795 when about 60 Cherokee were killed by British forces under General Arthur Stokes west ofpresent day Cary City after raiding a small settlements along Johnson’s Creekou Trail which crossed into thenumberless Rutherfords Parish northeast of today's Chapel Hill On February 14th 1800 two lumberjacks named Joel Williamson and William McFarlane found coal buried 6 feet below surface on property owned by Nathaniel Ashe – more than a century after first discovery . Coal mining continued intermittently through both American Revolutionary War years with small operations taking place along Yadkin River but ceased completely following war’s end In 1814 Middlesex Coal Company mined over 500 acres northeast of downtown Raleigh finding coal underlying lead mines workings dating back to 1611 and saltpeter works dating back to 1656 at present day Morristown . By 1860 there were 10 activecoal mines operating in Wake County with an average production rate OF 2 lbs/acre Mining continued intermittently throughout both American Civil War years with small operations taking place along Yadkin River but ceased completely following war’s end Although production stopped during Reconstruction many local miners used their skills to help rebuild South Carolina Following World War II new plants began producing anthracitecoal although output decreased sharply due to competition from natural gas developments After deregulation various local companies became involved in textile manufacturing various types processing including bagasse insulation , carpet
