In 1905, an addition to the courthouse was built which included a court room and jail. The courtroom served as the town's main public square until it burned down in 1994. The jail was replaced by a Community Corrections Center which opened on May 16th 2003 and is still used today by law enforcement officers and community members alike. The old mill still stands as a reminder of when corn flour was produced hereabouts during times gone by. Corn flours are still made hereabouts although not as common as they once were due to Royer's Processed foods becoming more popular over time
