In 1912-13, Concord served as host to the world's largest agricultural fair known as "The Great American Agricultural Fair". This event attracted more than 500,000 people to its grounds over three days. One significant local industry during this time period was textile manufacturing; many local companies such as Jiffy Lube oil stations sprang up around Concord during this time period. However, with World War II looming large and production halted for soldiers overseas, these industries slowly revived starting in the late 1940s thanks to marketing efforts by veterans organizations like The Home Front Coalition - beginning what would be an ongoing cycle of economic success for Concordites throughout the postwar years! Today’s economy has diversified greatly since World War II began – with service-providing jobs such as tech support or customer service at local businesses becoming increasingly common – but some aspects remain unchanged: high levels of poverty/income inequality are still extant within our community; however housing prices have become more affordable within walking distance of most residents; while minority communities continue to experience disproportionately high rates of crime or social isolation
