Gun sights are a type of sighting device used to aim firearms. They consist of an optics system that directs light through a lens to a target, and often include reticles to help the shooter determine where the target is located. The name "Concord" comes from an English surname which means "place near the sea." The first inhabitants of what is now Concord were Native Americans who lived around Cape Fear River and into northeastern Randolph County. In 1755, General James Johnston's army attacked a small Indian village on Hiwassee Island and destroyed most of it before retreating to Concord because he could not find enough food for his troops. In 1814, General Andrew Johnson's army burned down part of the town while besieging Fort Sumter in Charleston harbor; as a result, many people fled to Concord and some new buildings were built in what is now downtown Concord. The area that is now downtown Concord was originally part of Raleigh (incorporated in 1824). North Carolina legislators decided to move Raleigh southward along I-85 so that newly developed areas such as Apex (now Cary) and Carrboro would have access to better transportation. When I-485 was constructed, they realized they needed more land east of I-85 so they annexed parts of Durham and Wake Counties into Raleigh proper. This left downtown Concord alone until 1970 when it became part of the newly created city limits for Durham – making it finally an incorporated city with its own government
Concord was founded in 1725 by the Reverend John Murray and his wife, Lady Sarah Forbes. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the route between North Carolina and Virginia. In 1849, Concord became a City of Raleigh.
