The first shotgun and rifle club in Concord was formed in 1871 by men who were interested in shooting recreationally. At that time, shotguns were either muzzleloaders or single shot rifles. In 1916, a new clubhouse was built as part of a larger project called “The Project” which aimed to promote gun safety education across the country. Today, the CRSA remains an important organization within Concordational society with over 350 members statewide. They sponsor numerous events including NRA conventions and meetings, as well as blue ribbon competitions such as IPSC/3 Gun Nationals and Cabela’s Gun Show sanctioned matches.
