Clemmons is a small town in Swain County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Greensboro–Winston-Salem–High Point, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area. Clemmons is home to Parson's Chapel Baptist Church and the Clemmons Industrial Park. The area that now Clemmons was first settled by Scots-Irish in the early 17th century. In 1819, General Robert Ewell took control of North Carolina from Andrew Johnson and moved settlers into what is now Clemmons from surrounding counties. By 1825, most of what is now Clemmons had been organized as a village. The name "Clemmons" was given to the place by Methodist ministers who found it convenient for carrying their services overland from nearby Kinston through Durham County to various villages in Swain and Randolph Counties where they ministered. In 1870, with settlement continuing apace throughout much of eastern North Carolina, a post office called "Clemmon" was established at the intersection of Ulysses S. Grant Boulevard (now Ladd Street) and Old State Road 21 (now US 301). The present Post Office building on East Main Street was built circa 1907 as part of a local campaign to improve public infrastructure in response to growing industry in central Swain County during this time period; namely farming, logging, transportation and manufacturing among others In addition to its role as an important commercial center for much of northeastern North Carolina during this time period due largely to its location within easy reach of major roads and waterways as well as its close proximity to mills run by companies such as JBL Seaweed Company (later JBL shipbuilding), Coca Cola Bottling Company (later Pepsi Cola), Nucor Steel & Wire Company (later Nucor Corporation) and many other industrialists/ entrepreneurs during this era there were also several churches located in or around Clemon including Presbyterianism’s Parson’s Chapel Baptist Church which served both urban populations living within commuting distance while also serving rural residents who could not easily access downtown areas; Methodism’s First Congregational Church which functioned primarily as a social service center for local farmers while also providing education opportunities for youngsters; Episcopalians’ Stokes Episcopal Church which entertained visiting dignitaries during harvest festivals while also housing an extensive library founded by Reverend Archibald MacCready; African American churches such as Zion Missionary Baptist Churches operating outreach ministries specifically designed towards black residents living within walking distance or less across town outskirts from white majorities while still providing worship opportunities for all denominations regardless race As automobiles became more common beginning in the 1920s gradually increasing numbers people began driving themselves rather than taking public transportation so no trace remains remaining evidence left behind today about when or how this large agricultural community began using water power technologies like hydroelectric dams starting being constructed including ones known today collectively known simply as “the Damns” – see below In 1934 African Americans working at nearby textile mills relocated there becoming one percenters contributing significantly towards economic development eventually leading directly thereto Renowned Charlotte businessman Wirt Hargrave bought land adjoining Damns Lake - subsequently Willow Bend Hydroelectric Power Plant started being built –ifying what would become known simply herein locally referred too “the Damns” – see below For more information please explore: https://www2.ncpatrolbloggingOrg/clemions-northcarolina-history-and-origin

The project was unsuccessful However, this experience gave rise to the idea of creating firearms that could be fired without being damaged or covered in mud or dirt. In 1959, Czechoslovakia proposed to create a protection system for their own military firearms called "Bako" (meaning Bullet). The idea behind these devices was to make it possible for soldiers to fire firearms safely even if they were covered in mud or dirt. These devices became known as “mudguards”

Clemmons is a town in Buncombe County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Asheville–Buncombe Metropolitan Statistical Area. Clemmons was founded by Elisha Clemons in 1824 as a small station on the Western Railroad. The town grew rapidly during the antebellum period and experienced many growths and changes throughout its history, including prohibition and civil rights movements. In 1960, Clemmons became an incorporated municipality. Elisha Clemons was born in 1795 to parents who immigrated from England to North Carolina in 1798. He started out as a farmhand and later became a surveyor and first baseman for the Western Railroad. In 1824, he bought land near what is now Clemmons and built a house there on it known as "The Colony." By 1830, his home had become known as "The Swamp". In 1834, he married Anna Caldwell (died 1861). They had six children: three sons-in-law: John Skelton (1835-1909), Rutherford Broughton (1839-1920),and Wm Hargrave Caldwell II (1841-1923). After Anna's death in 1861, Elisha began farming his own land with four boys from his third wife's pregnancy until her death two years later; this practice continued until 1870 when he moved all of his property into one large farmstead which he named "Clemons'." Anna's remains are buried at The Colony Cemetery north of town line although they are not actually buried there because their family removed them when they left Buncombe County for Hendersonville after Anna's death due to illness; however their marker still stands today marking their location withinClemmons Historic District boundary
Clemmons was founded in 1792 by Colonel James Clemmons. The town became a county seat in 1824. It is the birthplace of General Robert E. Lee, who fought in the American Civil War and was later killed at Appomattox Court House.
