In 1974-1975, new buildings were built on what had been Mellon Park which included a gymnasium and football field that are now used as parts of Stallings Middle School building. In 2006-2007 Pittman set up shop outside of town limits with his large fruit orchard next to his home until he relocated back into town after Pittman's Tree Farm failed due to low yields from his trees during 2007-2008 season

Clemmons is located at 33°48′38″N 80°15′48″W (33.870111 N 80.278182 W). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land. As of 2010, there were only 173 people living in Clemmons full-time; no businesses or farms operated on site outside of summer tourist seasons when residents are available for work or tourism purposes only during those timeside periods Of course with any decrease/no increase since then things must be handled through marketing etc... so its hard to give an accurate number
Clemmons was founded by James Clemmons in 1827. The town originally consisted of just a few homes and a small store. In the 1830s, the area around Clemmons became known for its coal resources. The town slowly grew and expanded until it had a population of over 100 people by 1845. By 1870,Clemmons had become an important center for coal mining and commerce. The town experienced some growth during World War II as many residents moved to work in the munitions factories in nearby Greensboro. However,clemmon's economic decline began after the war ended and mass unemployment followed. In the 1960s,Clemmons gained notoriety when it became one of the first towns in North Carolina to adopt psychedelic drugs as part of its cultural landscape.
