Today, it continues to serve as both a religious center and civic center for Clemmon residents

In 1834, the first school was built. In 1865, a post office was established inClemmons. The population of Clemmons increased from about 100 people to over 300 by 1860. In 1870, a sawmill and gristmill were built in Clemmons. By 1910, the population of Clemmons had reached 1,500 people. The railroad arrived in Clemons in 1912 and helped increase trade and commerce within the community. In 1922, the first high school was open in Clemmon.
