So for many years people just call this place Spotsylvania County Seat because that's where General Robert E Lee got his commission from to lead our army during the rebellion against slavery back in 1857 while we were still living under Confederate rule! So today we continue to call this place "Spotsylvania County Seat" even though we technically live anywhere else now!
