Scope mounts are a type of mount that allow the attachment of a telescope or camera to a rifle. Scope mounts come in many different shapes and sizes, and they can be attached to rifles in various ways. Some scope mounts use screw threads, while others use bolts. The most popular type of scope mount is the Weavermount, which uses four screws to attach the telescope or camera to the rifle. Other types of mount include Picatinny rails, which are designed for mounting optics on military rifles, and MIL-STD-1913 flash hiders, which can be used to increase accuracy when shooting at night.

The area now known as Albemarle County was first settled by Europeans in the early 1600s. In 1692, John Rutherford, an Englishman, purchased land on the Hiwassee River near present-day Albemarle County. The Rutherford family continued to own and use the land until 1828, when it was resold to a group of Scotsmen who named their new holdings "Albemarle." In 1838, James Weldon acquired title to 1/6 of Charlotte Township in Albemarle County from David Ladd. Weldon developed this land into the current city of Charlotte. The original scope mounts were built in1843 by Major General Edward Prentiss for his regiment stationed at Fort Fisher. These mounts allowed troops on horseback to look down onto a battlefield from a high position without having their horses' legs become entangled in the stirrups.

Albemarle is a town in Randolph County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Charlotte–Mecklenburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1868 by Scots-Irish immigrants as a small farming community on a ridge above the Yadkin River. In 1886, Albemarle became the first town in Randolph County to be incorporated as a city. In 1923, Albemarle lost its status as a city and became an unincorporated village. The population declined from its peak in 1950 to 1,824 at the 2000 census; however, it has since rebounded and now constitutes one of the most vibrant communities in Randolph County.

Weick designed and patented a system for attaching optics to rifles that allowed shooters to adjust rangefinding while in combat. The original Expand-on-Scope mounts were designed to attach onto rifles with a Weaver style rail. The mount allowed the shooter to see inside the rifle and bolt action by means of an eyepiece or spotting scope.

Albemarle is a town in Orange County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Charlotte metropolitan area. Albemarle is one of two towns in Orange County and the county seat for both counties. The other town is Robeson. The first white person to visit what became Albemarle was Captain John Smith on July 4, 1607 when he and three other Englishmen explored the region as part of their search for new land to settle after successful voyages from England. In 1738 Governor James Moore granted a grant of land to Col. Hugh Lawson who named it "Albemarle". Albemarle's history began with its incorporation as a township on May 10, 1848 by General Assembly Cushing Hargrave and Wm Fenton Johnston II%. In 1875 Albemarle voters approved a proposition to incorporate as an unincorporated community within Orange County because they were growing tired of living in separate counties which taxed them twice (the countyTaxes Act). The first post office opened in 1870, serving residents of Robeson until 1896 when it became part of the larger city of Charlotteville; however, post offices continued to be open at Albemarle until 1907 due to strong local support for keeping the name "Albemarle". The most significant event in Albemarles history occurred during World War II when much troops were concentrated here for training purposes before being sent off into battle overseas; many soldiers from here also went on combat tours later in the war including Marine Corps veterans nicknamed "The Battalion". After World War II ended there was heavy development throughout Albemarlos downtown area with some 2 dozen businesses opening up during that time alone and more than $100 million being spent on renovation projects which included streetscape changes and new infrastructure improvements like an interstate highway bypassing town limits. One such project was construction of the Albermarle Bridge which spanned I-85 over Little Creek Valley between South Park Avenue and Interstate 95 just east of downtown; this bridge helped increase traffic congestion around downtown but also brought good economic benefits as companies moved their headquarters out-of-state onto I-85 instead making access to central business districts much easier. In recent years small businesses have begun disappearing while large ones continue to grow – most visibly along either side of I-85 just outside town limits – leaving behind bigQuery Inc., Coca Cola Refreshments Co., Apple Inc.'s campus headquarters (now known as Research Triangle Park), Sycamore Mills Mall, Brownies 'N' More Bakery & Cafe among others

Albemarle was founded in 1728 by John Moore and his wife Esther. The town grew rapidly, and by 1768 it had a population of over 1,500 people. It became a major center for cotton production, and the Moore family endowed Albemarle College in 1775. In 1819 Albemarle was incorporated as a city, and its first mayor was James A. White. The city experienced rapid growth during the antebellum period, with an increase in population to over 10,000 people by 1830. However, Albemarle's fortunes began to decline after the American Civil War began; the city's population fell to 614 people by 1870s. Albemarle regained some of its former status after the Reconstruction era ended in 1877, but its economic revival did not last long. In 1990 Albemarle was annexed into Raleigh suburb Durham
