Albemarle is a town in the U.S. state of North Carolina, located on the Albemarle Sound near the mouth of the Catawba River. The population was 9,898 at the 2010 census. The first permanent inhabitant of what would become Albemarle County was James Fenton in 1768 when he and his family moved from NC to make their home hereabouts. He named his new parish after himself, Albemarle Parish in honor of Lord George II's Declaration of Independence which took place at Fort Charlotte on April 12, 1776. In 1801, two brothers by the name of Alexander and John Stephenson founded a sawmill and grist mill just outside present day Albemarle village on Hocking Stream where they continued operations until 1827 when they donated these mills to local trustees for use as schoolhouses/homeschooling institutions under control of the Presbyterian Church (Upper South Carolina). These schools were known as "The Stephenson School" until 1865 when they became "Albemarle Academy". There have been numerous advancements made within the technology of Red Dot Sights over the years; however, two main innovations have stood out most: The Multi- Aiming System (MAS) and illuminations offered by LED lights or laser pointers during low light conditions (.22 caliber rimfire only). The Multi-Aiming System (MAS) was an invention originally conceived by Raytheon during World War II as a way for snipers using optics devices like variable magnification eyepieces (VME), reflex turrets etc., supplementary Aiming Devices (SADs), bipods & spotting scopes onto fixed rifles without losing valuable manual targeting information unavailable through eye glasses alone or through total darkness [1]. It proved successful enough that it was later adopted by American Sniper Incorporated as an industry standard feature on all rifle sighting systems incorporating iron sights including air guns & revolvers
