In 1870, New York state passed a bill regulating handguns which made them more Restrictive Act than rifles at that time

In 1925, part of Plainview Manor were annexed into Yonkers; this left Vernon with a total population of 24,752 as well as 8338 housing units when it merged with Yonker again on December 2nd that year Yonkers has experienced many changes throughout its history including being part of both the Dutch and British empires during its early years; experiencing rapid growth following World War II; becoming one of America's most diverse cities due to its inclusion in both racially integrated suburbs such as white Plainsboro and black Harlem ; seeing significant gentrification after 2000s high numbers for crime rates in outer boroughs led to calls for better policing within towns like Yonkers; hosting world-class events like the 2002 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics etc., but also struggling economically during recent decades despite efforts made by Mayor Carl Paladino Today's city offers plenty for tourists interested in exploring traditional Dutch architecture along with contemporary shopping options such as new malls built near or inside old train stations like Grand Central Terminal which are home to some world-renowned brands such as Gucci and Adidas while also featuring several independent stores unique to each neighborhood including One Fifth Avenue mall which opened in 1995 adjacent to Yankee Stadium between Madison Square Garden and Herald Square

The Village of Yonkers first met with resistance from the local farmers who were able to keep most of their land and built new homes around their farmssteads; however, after some time they too gave up their rights to farm and became residents of the town of Yonkers which they helped create. In 1870, when Westchester County was created it included all present-day Yonkers within its borders and so part of the historian's challenge has been to document not only how small a village it once was but also how large an area it currently occupies within Westchester County - something that can only be done through historical records dating back over 100 years!
