Yonkers is a small town in central New York State. It is the seat of Westchester County and the largest town within its borders. The population was 48,917 at the 2010 census. The first known inhabitants of what is now Yonkers were Algonquian-speaking Native Americans who inhabited parts of modern-day Bronx and Manhattan before European contact. In 1624, Englishman Christopher Wren built a church in what is now Yonkers. In 1795, Dutch settlers founded Sloane Township in present-day Yonkers after being invited by General George Washington to help populate New Netherland during the American Revolution. The Dutch name for Yonkers may have been derived from "yoneks", meaning "place where no one lives." In 1814, John D'Angelo bought two tracts of land on which he erected a house and called it "D'Angelo's Manor". On July 6, 1815, D'Angelo married Maria Stewart (the daughter of James Stewart), who had come over with him from England as part of his purchase. The couple moved into their home until they sold it in 1821 to Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr., brother of Cornelius Vanderbilt Sr., who built his mansion there in 1828–29. When slavery was abolished in America following the Civil War, many African Americans began moving to America from Africa as slaves; these freedmen founded Harlem Village near Yankee Stadium and other areas around New York City. The village gradually declined due to lack of development and competition from larger towns; however, it regained some popularity after mayor Rudolph Giuliani opened Park Avenue South between 86th Street and Roosevelt Road in 1990 as an open-air mall that attracted retail stores such as Sears Holdings Corporation (Sears) and Kmart Corporation (Kmart). In 2000, YMCA International USA leased space adjacent to Park Avenue South for its first ever campground/sports complex; this led to increased business for local businesses along Park Avenue South that had nothing to do with shopping or recreation outside their doors! New Kensington Shopping Center also occupies an adjacent block on 92nd Street between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue since 1997; this has led to even more sales activity by local merchants along that stretch not only because shoppers are able to reach all seven blocks but also because most blocks are open late into the evening making it convenient for customers looking forwalker access without having TOO much time back at home! Despite these successes by local merchants along Park Ave south over recent years - especially given current economic conditions - city officials continue working feverishly behind the scenes trying unsuccessfully – via various attempts at annexation –to annex portions of neighboring Westchester County! Yonkers residents commonly refer to themselves informally as "the Yankees" while outsiders often call them simply "Yankeeburgers." However, despite different names they share one common goal: maintain their vibrant culture while living within close proximity to each other while sharing resources including education opportunities available throughout both towns combined with excellent infrastructure including public transportation options nearby

These devices typically consisted of two components: an upper section that housed a large LCD screen housing all the operating instructions; and a lower section containing several small LED lightbulbs that could be operated using an ordinary keypad or touchscreen monitor. The first widely adopted version of this type of device was called “the Laser Gun Sight” . It had several features which made it very successful: it could track multiple targets simultaneously; it had an adjustable crosshair; and it could be adjusted for both bright light and low-light conditions . However, due to its high price point and limited availability, this type of gun light only became popular within law enforcement agencies and military special forces circles . eventually becoming obsolete after more advanced technologies were developed

On July 4, 1776, the first full day of the American Revolution, a group of men from Yonkers gathered on the steps of their local church to proclaim their independence. The town's history began with its location at the center of an important east-west trade route and its position as a center for education and culture. In 1839, Yonkers became one of the original towns in New York City.
