John Aiken continued to sell his products throughout the years until his death in 1944 at age 86. White Plains is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 59,711 at the 2010 census. It is the largest settlement in the county and one of its most populous municipalities. White Plains has been inhabited by humans since at least 12,000 BC. The area now comprising White Plains was first settled by Dutch colonists in 1624 as part of what is now Westchester County. The name "White Plains" originated from an English place name meaning "a meadow with white flowers". The first cross-town road to be built in White Plains was called Indian Road because it led from the village of Goshen (now part of Valhalla) through present-day White Plains to Crossroads (now Valhalla). At that time there were no roads or bridges between villages and residents had to travel by horseback or wagons over open country. In 1797, two years after Jameson & Company founded the current borough of Yonkers, they began construction on a road from Yonkers south to their new factory complex on Blackwell's Creek nearpresent- day White Plains Village. This became known as Jameson Boulevard and still exists today as part of I-87/I-287. In 1814–15, during the Knowles Administration as Manhattan Island was being annexed into New York City, Congress ordered that all lands east of Harlem be allocated among various Congressional Districts for public use within ten years. As a result, portions of what are now Whitespine and Rye townships were added to Westchester County along with other areas west of Harlem including Plattsburgh and Scarsdale which would become Greater New York City.) On July 1st1816 when New York Statehood took effect under President George Washington’s Provisional Government following America’s War for Independence, “Westchester” became “New York”; thus – White Plain

White Plains, New York is a small town in upstate New York on the border of Albany and Rochester. The population was 17,873 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Rochester-Newburgh, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. White Plains was first settled by English colonists in 1624. The town was originally named Great Barrington but changed to White Plains in 1812 when it was annexed by Rochester. The first white settler in White Plains was Nicholas Van Cortlandt who arrived there in 1624 with his family from Connecticut. In 1714, John Barker purchased land here and erected the first known millstone mill in America. In 1725, George Washington leased land here for two years to study law under lawyer Richard Montgomery before moving to nearby Kingston to start his own legal career. In 1727-28, George Washington also attended a meeting of the First Continental Congress here where he endorsed independence from Great Britain. After America's independence were won, President James Knyphausen awarded White Plains one mile square grant for development as a center for education and industry that lasted until 1809 when it reverted back to its original name of Great Barrington. During the American Revolutionary War (1775-81), General Nathanael Greene spent time at White Plains During Battle of Saratoga which resulted in large loss on both sides with over 2,000 fatalities including 350 Americans killed at White Plaines Mill during battle 1899 according to Black Hawk History Museum website article: "The Massacre at Whitesplaines Mills" In 1802-1803 Daniel Webster served as Ulysses S Grant's Legatee from New York State and visited White Plains twice during this time period while visiting other parts of Upstate New York . He later wrote about his visit: “I passed through several villages on my route towards Oswego; among these I stopt at Whitesplaines [sic] village; seven miles below us we find an excellent springs affording water fit for all purposes; four families live thereon….A few rods beyond this point Mr Grants house stood upon an eminence commanding a view of all that situation around – beautiful country” In 1830s– 1840s many distilleries operated out of what is now known as former DeLorean manufacturing plant across Mohawk Road east from current day home market area (the plant closed after production ceased). This industrial complex had numerous buildings such as a foundry which still stands today used for storage by local farmers since early 20th century until demolition started due to environmental concerns some years ago)
