White Plains, New York is a town in Rockland County, New York, United States. The population was 31,567 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest community in Rockland County after White Plains Junction. The first gun magazine in White Plains was started by George Washington Carver and his brothers in 1887. The first issue of "The Rifleman" featured articles on hunting and shooting. In 1896, "The Pistolero" was founded and published monthly. By 1902, "Herald-Dispatch" had beenfounded too. In 1903, "The Gunsmith" began publication and it would remain an important publication until it closed its doors in 2006. In 1912, the first rifle club in White Plains formed with seventeen members and seven rifles. From 1912 to 1916, the town held a annual rifle match which attracted participants from all over New York State as well as international shooters from England and Canada. Starting in 1914 there were also pistol competitions held every other month with pistolsvarying prizes such as shotguns or rifles for each class event participation (2nd through 10th grades). In 1924 the first indoor shooting range opened up at Rheingold Park which continued to be used until 1991 when it became part of Warrior bank before being torn down for residential development purposes .

White Plains, New York is a small town in westchester county, New York. The population was 22,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the White Plains-East Harlem, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now White Plains were Dutch traders and fur trappers who traveled through the area in 1624. In 1764, John Montgomery founded a post office here and named it for Prince George of Great Britain because he had seen him ride through the area on his way to Albany. The early settlers were all farmers and their homes were located near the intersection of State Rd. 5 and Mohawk Ave./Route 9 (now Westchester Rd.). By 1812 most of these families had moved away as agriculture became less productive due tosylvanian weather patterns that favoredorthern maize growers over those in the south. In 1815 local militiamen fought under General Uriah Hemenway against Ulysses S. Grant's forces during the American Civil War (1814-1865). In 1832 Judge Augustus Kelley built one of the first churches in White Plains when he organized an effort to rebuild churches which had been destroyed by fire or tornado during the 1830s and 1840s. White Plains became an incorporated village on December 15, 1833 following approval by the state legislature from then-Governor DeWitt Clinton with 3 out of 4 precincts voting in favor thereof; this gave incorporation status to villages that met certain requirements such as having a schoolhouse and/or church within their limits (the other two precincts not joining until after Clinton's death). The vote followed petitions from residents with objections raised by some politicians who felt incorporation would grant too much power to Village Hall over individuals' lives without corresponding benefits or responsibilities such as representation on village committees or development rights for new businesses etc.). On November 27, 1836 President James Knoepfli approved charter No. 1 for white settlement within Whitespur Township north of present day Court House Road/Route 9; this marked perhaps Yankee imperialism at its most blatant as Knoepfli effectively granted extraterritorial privileges to Yankees living outside his jurisdiction – something that would continue until well into tomorrow's America! This act also solidified whitespace within westernchester county while promoting development along Main St., especially around Court House Road where many wealthy Yankees already lived visible from rooftops thanks in part to infrastructure improvements funded primarily by millionaire Nicholas de Carvalho & Co.. . . . . . . [In] 1840 rural Whitespur Township east of Court House road simply ceased exist entirely when its namesake township merged into neighboring Rockland County; becoming what are today known as Westchester County municipalities’ only source for taxes anywhere between Sayville northward). By 1860 only 2%of Whitespur’s populate lived within its borders while 60%of households resided “outside” either Rockland County or Westchester County altogether making Whitespur one of Hunterdon County’s poorest communities financially speaking]. Census figures reflect this trend continuing into our current era with just 8%of residents locally born between 2000&2010 residing inside Whitespunters borders! Today there are very few people remaining who originated from Whites PURPOSEFUL exclusion FROM village life!). In 1870 Peter Smith opened what eventually became Pillsbury Cheese Factory here – one of several successful businesses begun by Yankee entrepreneurs easting Main Street subsequent growth ensuing throughout much OF eastern Westchester Counties [This was also influentialinderation given later plant openings at Harrisonburg & Scarsdale]. As moreYankees arrived they bought up surrounding land making village boundaries increasingly irrelevant egressing even Prospect Park behind today’s high school building)".

This gave new impetus to development around White Plains as merchants began exporting goods from Buffalo more easily than they could from other parts of New York State. In 1825, an act was passed which allowed for African American slavery within limits set by law; this caused great outrage among whites who saw black people as inferiors not capable of contributing anything constructive to society. During the 19th century, many large commercial enterprises were founded here: beef cattle feeder company Hargrave Bros., flour mill Wappingers Falls Mill (later Phelps Dodge), Singer Sewing Machine Works (owned by Singer Brothers), Erector Set Works (owned by George Eastman), Macy's Department Store and others all started up during this time period including Eastern bound steamboats that would dock at White Plains Lighthouse before continuing downstream on Long Island Sound
