By 1903 however, gun magazine production had essentially stopped due to increased competition from books such as Field & Stream and Sporting Life which were much smaller thangunmagazines but had far greater advertising budgets. However while book publishing continued sporadically into the 20th century there was no corresponding increase in gun magazine subscriptions or sales Overall it can be said that gun magazines enjoyed a long period of stability prior to beginning their current trend towards digital distribution

In 1984 Mayor David Dinkins created an open space reserve adjacent to Howell Reservoir on Orchard Road totaling ; Dinkins also supported open space initiatives throughout his tenure as mayor. In 1992 Mayor Rudolph Giuliani created two parks - White Plains Park and Boerum Hill Park - within commuting distance of downtown Manhattan; these were later integrated into central New York City park systems through programs such as Parks for All (now Bloomberg Park) and Open Space (now Central Park). Mayor Michael Bloomberg renamed portions of both White Plains and Boerum Hill Parks after deceased individuals or organizations during his tenure (e.g., Anthony Lewis’s Crossroads Plaza), making them co-headquarters for several neighborhood associations that represented specific areas around Lower Manhattan – South Street Seaport District, East Harlem/Newgate Heights Neighborhood Association, Financial District/Museum District Association etc.; these changes are now permanent features at each park’s entrances/exit points. In 2013 Mayor Christine Quinn announced plans to convert all three Crossroads Plaza pedestrian malls into one large green oasis with more than 1 million square feet (100 hectares) devoted exclusively to retail tenants; this project is set to be completed by 2019
Westbury village was founded in 1784 by Colonel John Westbury. The first settlers were the Meek family, who arrived in a small boat from Connecticut on October 16, 1784. The village soon grew and developed a strong cultural identity based on its Congregationalism religious beliefs. In 1821, the village purchased land east of the New York State line from the Erie Canal company. The village then built an extensive infrastructure including a school, churches, and public square. Theistors began arriving in larger numbers beginning in the early 21st century,dlowing population growth to around 1,000 people by 2016. Since then the town has seen declining population due to factors such as joblessness and low birthrates; however there have been some recent investments into new housing and businesses that are hoped will revive Westbury Village's economy.
