The regiment disbanded on June 15th 1865 in New York City.

Watertown is a town in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The population was 10,846 at the 2010 census. Watertown is the county seat of Saratoga County. It is part of the Albany–Schenectady–Troy metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what would become Watertown was Nicholas French in 1777. French named his land "Newburgh," after his native country of France. In 1814, when Saratoga County was created from parts of Westchester and Orange counties, Watertown became the second town on its boundaries. The village of Northwater had been established in 1807 by settlers from Norwich, Connecticut and White Plains, New York. Watertown's growth as a commercial center came about because it lies on the Mohawk River at the junction of two stagecoach routes which led to and from Albany and Schenectady (and also served as water transportation connections between these cities). This convenient location made it an important stop on routes leading to Upstate New York and western Massachusetts. By 1830, merchants in Watertown had built a series of warehouses that lined Beacon Street downtown. In 1831, Reverend John Cushing founded what would become Utica Seminary; this school would later become Utica University. The following year saw another milestone for Watertown when John Fenton opened the first store in what is now Main Street east of Center Street. Fenton's store was soon followed by others until by 1840 there were over 20 stores in operation within one block south of present-day Main Street north of Haskell Avenue (the main business district then), making Watertown one of America's most vibrant commercial towns during its early years
