Valley Stream, New York is a town located in the Erie County of New York. The population was 10,814 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. Valley Stream was first settled in 1795 by Loyalists from British North America who had fled during the American Revolution. The town was named for valley stream running through it. In 1835, Valley Stream became one of twenty towns in Erie County to be consolidated with Niagara Falls into the new county of Niagara.
