Valley Stream is located in the Finger Lakes of New York State and has been home to guns for over 200 years. The town was first settled by Europeans in the late 17th century and began to grow as a gunsmiths, papermakers, and farmers base. It became an important port on the Hudson River during the 19th century and was known for its fine cannons. The town experienced a significant increase in population during World War II, when it became one of the largest military installations in New York State. Valley Stream also became a center for firearm manufacturing during this time. In recent decades, however, ValleyStream has seen a decrease in its importance as a weapons manufacturing center due to competition from other towns in New York state with similar histories of firearms production. Today, Valley Stream is still home to some of the most famous firearms manufacturers in America. These firms include Smith & Wesson, Winchester Repeating Arms Company, Colt Firearms Corporation, Springfield Armory Company, Berger Bullets Inc., and SIG Sauer Group AG. Each company produces unique firearms that are popular among collectors and shooters alike. Valley Stream, New York is a small town in upstate New York, located on the Mohawk River. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Valley Stream has been home to many industries over the years: manufacturing, agriculture, logging and farming have all played a role in its history. The town is also known for its large and well-preserved Victorian homes. The valley formed where the Mohawk River emptied out into Lake Ontario. Over time, the river's waters shifted and carved new valleys through which they flow today. These valleys left behind fertile soils that were perfect for growing crops and raising livestock. In addition to this natural habitat, humans also contributed to the valley by creating roads and bridges that connected these villages together. The first settlers to populate Valley Stream were French Canadians who arrived in 1765 following the British Conquest of Canada. They built cabins along what is now State Route 527 which served as their temporary capital until they could build an actual town hall nearby. Valley Stream's first store opened in 1814 and its first school was founded in 1825. By 1830, it had become one of the most important communities on Long Island due to its location between Kingston (then part of Albany) and Utica (then part of Syracuse). During World War I, Valley Stream was used as an air-raid shelter during wartime bombings raid on Long Island City by American forces; it also served as headquarters for General John J Pershing’s Third Army during their retreat from Trenton after days of fighting there on October 16th 1918 . During Prohibition era (1920–1933), bootlegging operations took place here from various warehouses near present day Main Street; this area became known as "the Bottoms". However, prohibition eventually ended in 1933 with repeal of Prohibition Act by New York state government under Governor Fiorello La Guardia.. In recent years Valleys stream has undergone major revitalization with investments including new schools buildings , businesses , roads etc... It is hoped that this will lead to more jobs opportunities for local residents overlooking fresh starts

Valley Stream, New York is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New York City Metropolitan Area. Valley Stream is bordered by White Plains to the north and east, Valhalla to the south and west, and Scarsdale to the northwest. The first settlers of Valley Stream were Dutch Immigrants who arrive in 1624. The name "Valley Stream" was given by General George Washington when he found a stream that flowed through this area while he was exploring Manhattan. Valley Stream lay within what are now White Plains and Valhalla townships until 1785 when they were taken from those townships by mapmaker Nicholas-Jacques Conte as part of his effort to create a more perfect township for himself. The first post office in Valley Stream was established on December 12th, 1823 by Arent van der Linden with the name "Newburgh". In 1834 it became "Valley Stream". On July 1st, 1892 it became part of the city of New York. The population grew from 599 in 1870 to 11,000 by 1930; however during World War II there was much loss of life due to bombing raids on nearby Scarsdale which destroyed many homes and businesses in what is now known as The Vallejo Cluster or Palisades Park neighborhood (now located in White Plains). After World War II many residents moved away so that new housing developments could be built which remain today among some of valley stream's most prominent streets including First Avenue (northwest corner), Main Street (east side), Roosevelt Avenue (southwest corner), Prospect Avenue (northeast corner), Bedford Avenue (southwest corner) and Elmhurst Boulevard/Interstate 95 interchange
Valley Stream is a tributary of the New York River in upstate New York. It was named for the valley that surrounded it. The river flows through five counties in upstate New York: Erie, Genesee, Monroe, Ontario and Wayne. In its course there are many valleys including the Susquehanna River Valley, Niagara Gorge and Mohawk Valley.
