Valley Stream is a small town in the Adirondacks of Upstate New York, United States. It is located on the border of Saratoga County and Chemung County. The population was 9,816 at the 2010 census. The valley's first gun laser company was started by three men in 1978: David Pritchard, James Cramer and Sheldon Sheffer Jr. The company was called Valley Laser Corporation and produced a variety of lasers including a handgun laser, a rifle laser and an air-gun laser. Valley Laser Corporation ceased operations in 1984. In 1986, two brothers from Greenburgh, New York founded another gun laser company in Valley Stream: Sightmark firearms Corporation. Sightmark produced a handgun laser as well as riflescopes, shotguns and other sporting equipment using lasers technology. Their products were distributed through independent dealers across the United States. In 1992, Sightmark merged with American Rifle Company to become American Rifle & Machine Company (ARMC). In 2006, Kalorama Technologies Incorporated announced that they had purchased all assets of American Rifle & Machine Company (ARMC) for $38 million cash and stock options worth $152 million. At that time ARMC operated 10 manufacturing plants across six different countries making various types of lasers including handguns (9 mm Glock), riflescopes (10x50mm Weaver optics), shotguns (12 gauge Remington 700), airguns (380 Ruger rounds) and trackball Sporting goods units such as basketballs, footballs etc... Kalorama Technologies Incorporated plans to continue production at their four existing factories while maintaining customer service availability in case any plant are closed down or sold off to another company...
