Valley Stream, a town in upstate New York, is home to the oldest firearms manufacturer in the United States. The company, Flamingo Firearms Company, was founded in 1876 by George H. Flamingo and his brother Amos. The company started out making shotguns and rifles but soon became known for its firearm hats. Flamingo Hats were first made from felt or straw-filled hats with a band around the top that protected the head from contact with the gunpowder while firing it. After World War I, when new laws required all firearms manufacturers to produce hats that met safety standards, Flamingo Firearms Company produced some of the earliest firearms hat designs. One of their most popular models was the "Tommy Gun" hat, which featured a fat target on top of a circle made out of felt or straw-filled material for shooting practice. In 1922, Amos Flamingo passed away and his son George took over production at the company. From then until 1951, George Flamingo Jr.'s family ran the business alone (though he continued to make occasional products). In 1951, however, The Flamingos merged their companies with Browning Firearms Company and continued producing firearms hat models under that name until 1976 when they switched to guns only production again. Today there are still a few remnant remnants of what was once an industry powerhouse in Valley Stream; most notably at The Outdoor Trader store where you can find items like old flamingo hats emblazoned with browning symbols on their white cases!

The Valley Stream Armory was a firearms manufacturer in Valley Stream, New York. It was founded in 1856 by three men, Abraham Beal (1810-1876), Edwin H. Bacon (1824-1906) and John W. Sullivan (1836-1920). The armory produced rifles and handguns until 1959, when it closed its doors.
Valley Stream is a city in the U.S. state of New York, on the north bank of the Hudson River. The population was 382 at the 2010 census, down from 479 at the 2000 census. Valley Stream is part of the New York City metropolitan area and is connected by bridges to Yonkers and Albany. The name "Valley Stream" comes from two source settlements: Val-de-Grâce on Long Island (now an incorporated town) and Val-d'Or in Normandy, France whence settlers came in droves during the 17th century for land grants near Fort Orange on what is now Ulster County. The first known inhabitants were Dutch farmers who settled in 1624–26; they may have been preceded by Indians who had been living there for some time before that date. In 1664, English colonists arrived with Colonel John Tryon's forces following a peace agreement between Great Britain and Dutch rebels led by Hendrick Corstiaensen. Tryon named his new settlement after Valley Forge (the actual stream near which it was located). Over time, other European sources added their names to the community: for example, Jameson in 1787 became Livingston; Clinton in 1807 became Clintonville (although this name never caught on); and Van der Esch in 1838 became Valley Stream (after General Cornelius van der Esch). During its early years, Valley Stream was one of three villages within present-day New York City limits - along with Newtown Square and Lower Manhattan - grouped together as part of what was then called Middlesex County. However, when New York statehood was granted to America on November 8th, 1785 - just over two years after Valley Stream's incorporation - Middlesex County was split into four separate districts: Bergen County across river to the east; Queens County across river to the west; Westchester County including parts of today's Bronx and Staten Island across river to the south; and Union COUNTY crossingriver eventually becoming Nassau County today. A local landmark still visible today is Cowles Dam which formed part of Cowles Lake until it dammed up during Hurricane Sandy in 2012 – allowing flooding downstream that damaged many homes including those of Valley Stream residents situated close by – giving rise to criticism from some locals about how government policy could be improved if such disasters ever struck again (see also: Sandy ). In 1917–1918 a major water main connecting all five boroughs got replaced due to cholera pandemic hysteria as a result of fears that water supplies would be cut off if everyone could not drink water from public wells etc.; however no significant damage or outbreak took place as a result because most people knew how to filter water anyway given access facilities existed nearby should cholera have become more widespread like it did later that year elsewhere around NYC thanks mainly to Typhoid fever outbreaks ensuing from travel abroad during these times). valleystreamnewyork1

Valley Stream is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States. It lies on the southern bank of the Hudson River, east of Scranton. The population was 9,811 at the 2010 census. Valley Stream provides water to townships in both New York City and Yonkers and is one of several sources for drinking water for Albany, New York. The valley formed by the confluence of three streams-the East Northumberland, West Northumberland and Schoharie-eventually became part of what is now Ulster County. The first settlers in Valley Stream were farmers who arrived in 1795 from Pennsylvania. They named their community after a stream that flowed through their land near present-day White Plains. In 1814, George Washington visited Valley Stream while he was campaigning for President and recommended settlement here as an alternative to Williamsburg on the Potomac River because Valley Stream had easier access to food supplies than Williamsburg. In 1825, Anthony Wayne founded what would become Wayne Manor on land donated by his father-in-law Richard Montgomery; this manor still stands today as one of Valley Stream's most popular tourist destinations. The town's growth began slowly but steadily during the mid 1800s until it exploded during the late 19th century due to industrial development around Rochester (now Buffalo) and Buffalo Niagara International Airport (now known as JFK Airport). During this time, many mills closed down or moved away due to competition from new companies such as Sears Roebuck and JCPenney which opened up shop in larger cities at that time. However, ValleStream remained steadfastly committed to its smalltown feel throughout these times with a wide variety of businesses existing close together including stores like Hardware Store Warehouse #2 (founded 1912), Laundromat (#2 established 1924), dry goods store African Methodist Episcopal Zion (established 1928), bakery operated by Mrs Josephine Kapp (1912–2009) until it closed its doors in 2006 after years of decline; finally there was also a post office located within walking distance from every house since it opened on July 1st 1902 despite heavy competition from other post offices downtown which only served residents within 3 miles radius! In recent decades ValleStream has seen significant redevelopment with much focus placed on creating new housing developments called "gated communities" which are designed especially for upscale commuters living outside city limits who need little or no traffic or pollution exposure but still enjoy all thatValley Stream has to offer such as its robust public education system complete with high school graduate programs leading into colleges/universities nearby such as SUNY Empire State College & Fordham University among others On October 9th 1915 when World War I began 2 days later Iroquois Indians took up arms against American soldiers under General John Pershing resulting in over 100 dead including many women and children taken into captivity along with commanders William Tecumseh Sherman and Frederick Funston
