In 1841, The Gunfighter started publication and it continued until 1845. From 1846-1848, The Ranger published a monthly journal which served as a guide to arms and ammunition for frontier riflemen. In 1850, pistol magazine publications began appearing with Almanac being the first issue released that year. From then on through 1860 there were only gun magazines publishing regularly each month with issues starting around late October or early November of that year. In 1965, the store moved to its current location on Main Street. The Mag-N-Outgun store is one of the oldest gun stores in Upstate New York and has been serving customers since 1958.

Tonawanda is a town in Niagara County, New York, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first post office in Tonawanda was established on April 15, 1824. The land that makes up Tonawanda were first settled by the Mohawk people who arrived from Albany in 1736. In 1827 it was annexed to Buffalo and became known as "Buffalo tonawanda". The name came from the Tonawanda language meaning "place for deer" or "forested area near the falls". In 1870, an act of Congress designated Niagara Falls as a national monument and declared all lands east of Interstate 95 within New York state a national park. In 1912, local residents decided to change their town's name to Tonawanda because it sounded more international sounding than Buffalo and its surrounding villages which had names such assandusky. Tonawanda has been called one of America's most beautiful towns since its founding and remains one of its most vibrant small towns today with close-knit community spirit and strong cultural traditions including music, food and art festivals as well as agricultural production supported by family farmssteads dating back to before Europeans arrived in what is nowTonawanda Township on April 15th 1824 when Daniel Webster Parish set out his plat map looking for waste land off this side of Niagara Falls into what would become Erie County NY !! By 1921, both Winchester and Colt had developed their own mag systems for various firearms types. The Winchester Model 1903/1911 Hi-Power handgun magazine wasrevolutionized when it was redesigned in 1923 with an open-bolt design which gave users more control over how many rounds could be stored in each issue. The Colt 1911 Cobra pistol also utilized a hi-power revolver magazine system which allowed users to store more rounds than traditional Pistol Magazines

Tonawanda was a small town in the Catskills region of New York State, between Albany and Poughkeepsie. It is now part of the Town of Tonawanda, close to the state capital, Albany. The population at the 2010 census was 14,705. The first European settlers in what is now Tonawanda were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1624. They named their new settlement "Doornbosch" after a nearby farm where they had beenJehu's meal. In 1792, the town was renamed "Tonawanda". The first mills in Tonawanda were built by Andrew Carnegie and James Lovelock. There are still some active mills in Tonawanda today including Lovelock Manufacturing Company and Chenango Paper Corporation. In 1831, John Fenton bought land east of present-day Tonawanda for $10 per acre ($162 per kilometer). He founded the Delaware County Agricultural Society which became one of New York's leading agricultural organizations. In 1851 he donated 1/2 mile (0.8 km) of road from his farm to serve as a main artery through his township and surrounding villages; this road is now known asMain Street in Tonawanda. In 1865, Fenton donated another tract of land north of Main Street to form what is now Niagara University's eastern campus; this parcel also forms part of Niagara Falls' parkland today." An early school system sprang up here with three-room wooden buildings that burned down on numerous occasions but eventually sturdy brick buildings were erected around 1830 with an addition in 1836 that housed a printing press (the first presses used for publishing local newspapers). A woolen mill opened in 1840 and grew into one of America's largest textile companies; it closed its doors circa 1960 although remnants can still be found near downtown TonawandawaToday there are two churches:one Baptist and one Roman Catholic . The post office operated from 1837 until 1861 when it was moved to Auburn on Susquehanna River . There was also an academy serving students until gradeschool student dormitories replaced them during World War II due to air raids

The city of Tonawanda, New York was founded in 1814 as a small community on the east side of the Niagara River. The town grew rapidly and by 1828 had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1832, the village was renamed Tonawanda after Seneca Chief Buffalo Bill Cody.Tonawanda became an important agricultural center and by 1850 had a population of over 5,000 people. In 1865, Tonawanda became part of the new United States Territory of New York following the American Civil War. The territory was divided into two parts, the eastern portion including Tonawanda remained with the United States while the western portion including Buffalo Falls was annexed by Canada. During World War II,Tonawanda played an important role in providing materials for munitions production in Buffalo Falls. In 1945, following World War II, Tonawandans voted to become independent from Canada and formed their own government called the State of New York.
