Tonawanda, New York is a small town in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. The population was 2,142 at the 2010 census. It lies east of Syracuse on the border of Cayuga and Niagara counties. The name "Tonawanda" comes from two Iroquois words meaning "place where many animals live." The first word means "a place near the falls," and the second word means "the place where buffalo roamed." In 1814, General George Washington visited Tonawanda and named it for Major-General Jameson tonawa (1768-1833), an officer in his army who had fought in several Indian wars. As time passed, other places were renamed for American generals or statesmen: Battle Creek, Michigan; Cairo, Illinois; Topeka, Kansas; Muskegon Heights, Michigan; Lewiston, Maine. However, no new settlement was founded at Tonawanda until 1836 when anti-slavery activists led by John Prentice built a log cabin here to promote their cause before traveling to Canada to observe official abolition proceedings. This was followed by a store and school building in 1840 which served as both homes and business headquarters until 1850 when the Erie Canal was completed nearby and made transportation possible between Buffalo and northern Ontario easier than ever before. In 1871–72 local farmers organized what became known as the Tonawanda Agricultural Society to improve agricultural production around town through land purchases and cooperative efforts with other villages in southeastern NY County. By 1925 there were over 1 million acres of farmland in eastern NY County cultivated by about 140 thousand people using fourteen different types of crops including apples, chickens/eggs/laid eggs/vegetables etc., dairy products (milk & cheese), lumber (chicken coops & cribs) etc.; tourism also played an important role with summer resorts such as Devils Meadow being developed nearby providing employment opportunities during off season while also hosting events like agricultural fairs open to everyone or picnics featuring local baked goods etc.. Gun chokes are devices that bind the cocking handle on a firearm to the barrel, stopping the gun from firing. There are many different types of gun chokes and they can be used with either single or multiple guns. The first type of gun choke was invented by a German soldier in 1827. This choke consisted of a metal tube that was inserted into the barrel and passed through the trigger guard onto the back end of the cocking handle. This way, when you squeezed off the shot, your hand would be held captive by this metal tube instead of being able to move freely behind your back. The Germans were not very successful with this choke and it didn’t become popular until after World War II when new developments in ammunition made it more effective. Another early gun choke is called an “angle pipe” choke. This choke consists of two pieces: one attaches at one end to your shoulder stock (the front part of a rifle), while the other connects at an angle to your cocking handle. When you pull back on the takedown lever, it forces air out of both pieces and prevents them from moving together as they attempt to fire a round into your target. This type is also effective against handguns because handguns have more than one chamber which makes them easier to shoot than rifles/shotguns. Later iterations of gun chokes became known as screw-on or twist-on chokes because they required twisting or turning on two small screws located near each side of the muzzleloader’s stock before use (Figure 1). Twist-on guns were especially useful for shotguns because their barrels could be turned without having to remove any parts; however, twist-off guns became increasingly popular in later years because they allowed for greater flexibility when using heavier calibers (>7mm NATO) with less restriction on magazine capacity (Figure 2). One common type of twist-on shotgun muzzleloader choke is called an “unscrewable safety catch” globe choke ( Figure 3 ). It uses a threaded hole in its center that allows you to attach either an optic sight or flash hider directly onto its threads without having to remove any parts! When tightened down against recoil, this Globe Choke prevents unintentional fire within 25 yards using standard Remington ammo specifications!
