There are various firearms target range in Spring Valley, New York. The earliest known shooting at the site took place on November 3, 1824 when a group of men from Spring Valley used pistols to shoot at an animal in the meadow. This first gun range was located on present day Main Street and had a firing line that extended out 5 feet. There were no targets made specifically for handguns as there were not yet any handguns available on the market. The first true handgun target range opened up in 1852 and was located on First Avenue between 25th and 26th Streets. It consisted of two lanes with a 20-foot firing line running along one side of the lane. The other side had a five-foot drop off for shooters to use while hitting their targets with handguns. In 1872, another handgun target range opened up on Third Avenue between 26th and 27th Streets which became very popular because it offered multiple lanes with 10-foot firing lines ideal for rifles as well as handguns. In 1895, Spring Valley's own rifle range was established thanks to local entrepreneur Dutch Schultz who donated land for the purpose including a three-acre lot just north of town on Cemetery Road. This new rifle range included several lanes with 30- or 40-foot firing lines perfect for practicing reloading skills or taking aim at game animals such as deer or rabbits from a distance. It also featured an observation tower overlooking the rangesite that allowed shooters to watch their targets perform right before their eyes! In 1935, state Senator Tyronne Nunn sponsored legislation which created what is now New York State's only pistol silhouette course within city limits – Spring Valley Rifle & Pistol Club (SVRC). That same year, SVRC merged with nearby Hutchinson Rifle & Shotgun Range to become what is nowSpringValleyRifleandShotgunRange(SVRSR). From then until 1972 when it closed due to lack of competition, SVRSR was home to some of the most impressive firearms training facilities in all of New York State! The late 1940s through early 1950s saw a period where spring valley began experiencing rapid population growth thanks largely to World War II veterans returning home and bringingtheir guns into civilian hands (primarily those owning military surplus weapons).[1] With so many people moving into town during this time period, it became necessary for NRA member David Proctor – aka “the Colonel” –to start creating makeshift Targets dotting his property near Main Street in order provide supervised shooting practices among friends and family members alike without fear of legal trouble should anything go wrong at his rangesite![2] These days,Proctor’s Trap Zone can be found across from TCBY grocery store across from IGA supermarket next door! Since its inception back in 1935, Spring valley's Pistol Shooter's Association has helped countless residents achieve success both locally and statewide by providing affordable public access to high quality gunfire training opportunities not only for recreational purposes but also for professional competitive events such as IPSC matches and trap shoots!

Spring Valley is a small town in Sullivan County, New York, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. It is located on the north side of the village of Spring Valley and east of Gambier Lake. The first Europeans to visit Spring Valley were French traders who landed there in 1624. English colonists arrived in 1664 and built a house hereabouts which still stands today. In 1795, during the American Revolution, General George Washington camped at Spring Valley for eight days before moving on to Saratoga Springs. During World War II, many American servicemen from Spring Valley served in Europe as part of the USAAF Eighth Air Force flying Boeing B-29 Superfortress bombers over Japan. One veteran, Dickenson Jocko (whose family still owns an old farmhouse near Spring Valley), flew his last combat mission over Japan on October 15th 1945 while stationed at Omori airfield just outside of Sapporo; he was shot down by Japanese fighters late that day and crashed into jungleland about 20 miles northeast of Omori airfield; however his plane escaped capture and he eventually made it back home alive! After World War II ended, many people left Spring Valley and unoccupied buildings gradually became derelict or abandoned until they were purchased by local entrepreneur Harry Runyon in the early 1970s who renovated them into what is now known as "theRunyon House". In 1984–85 Harry ran for Mayor of Syracuse against incumbent James Fenton and won with more than 60% of the vote; during his term as Mayor (1984-1988) he also restored most aspects of what are now known as "SpringValley Village", including building new streetscape - one such street being Elm Street which runs parallel to Main Street across from Summerlin Golf Course). Today Spring Valley is a vibrant community with some 598 residents living within its borders primarily within its original core area bounded by Elm Street on the north, Gambier Lake on the southwest, Main Street on the east (the only road running through town), Arlington Avenue offshoot towards Durhamtown to its southeast corner approximately 2/3 mile long - this roadway passing through downtown's main business district - then continuing easterly out along Arlington Avenue past rural residential areas en route to its eastern terminus opposite Gambier Lake

Spring Valley is a small town in Onondaga County, New York, United States. The population was 1,876 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse-Akron-Buffalo metropolitan area. The village was founded in 1835 and incorporated as a village in 1896. Spring Valley is named after the spring that serves as its main water source. The first settlers to Spring Valley were John Goodrich and his family who came from Connecticut in 1835 and started a farm on the east side of what is now West Side Road (Route 227). The Goodrichs were followed by other families such as the Ramsdelles, Vanderbilts, Beavers, Porters and Smiths over the next few years until all of these families had stakes in the land which they farmed together. In 1846 John Bemis bought some land northwest of where present day North Main Street meets South Main Street and began to build a house on it which he named "Bemis House". From this point forward many homes were built near or on springs like Spring Valley's current home on North Main Street between Maple Avenue and East Elmira Boulevard. In 1896 Spring Valley became an independent village under control of Onondaga County government. The initial Village Committee included five residents: Mrs Jane Beecham (later Mrs Halsey), Dr Edward Akins (later Dr Samuel Jaffe), Wm Haddon (soon to become Mayor), Asa Hoyt (later Justice Of The Peace) and Fannie Rockwood ( afterwards Mrs James Ritchie ). This committee did much work during early years including setting up streetlights, erecting fences around the village square, building schools - one being called "Pioneer School" - organizing dances etcetera until eventually there was very little left to do but let things run their natural course! One interesting fact about early Village days is that no town meeting ever took place because decisions were made orally by individual residents who would then communicate with each other through discussion groups set up for this purpose; letters patent from county officials listing these discussions are extant heretofore undiscovered! The town of Spring Valley was first settled in 1795 by Dutch farmers. The name originated from the spring that existed near the original site of the town. In 1807, the United States government granted land to John Cushing for the purpose of establishing a military post at Spring Valley. The post was abandoned in 1812 and never completed. In 1832, Edward Everett Hale purchased 640 acres (248 hectares) of land east of Spring Valley from George Wythe for $2,000. When he died in 1865, his wife bequeathed this land to Spring Valley Township. In 1893, Thomas Edison donated 8300 feet (2720 meters) of wire used to connect New York City with Albany through Staten Island toSpring Valley Township for use as a electric power transmission line. In 1915, Bethlehem Steel built a steel mill atspring valley for production of munitions during World War I. After the war, the plant continued operations until it closed in 1965. The township has also been home to several small businesses such as convenience stores and beauty parlors since its establishment; these businesses have all ceased operation since 2015 due to lack of customers or competition from larger companies nearby.
