In 1800, Sleepy Hollow was finally incorporated as a village within Fulton County and remained so until 1947 when it became part of Upstate New York again following statehood. The ghost stories that have continued to be told about the town since then continue to make it popular with tourists -Especially those interested in colonial history or our nation's founding story.
