Sleepy Hollow is a small town in upstate New York, located near the borders of Pennsylvania and Ontario. The name Sleepy Hollow comes from the wooded area that surrounds it, which was once home to many Indian nations. In 1814, when the Erie Canal was completed, traders and farmers began moving into Sleepy Hollow and built their homes there. By 1825, however, the population had decreased so much that a school was needed to provide education for the people of Sleepy Hollow. To fund this school, taxes were levied on properties within the town limits. This caused many of these same property owners to move out of town as well - creating what is now known as "The Gilded Age". In 1892, following years of growth in Sleepy Hollow and its surrounding villages, a post office was established there. This allowed residents to send mail without having to go through other towns or villages. When Alfred Hitchcock filmed his first movie in Sleeping Horse Country (1935), he chose to film at nearby Antietam National Battlefield because it would allow him free access to use the Army's land for his scenes where characters are shot at close range. This made Sleeping Bear Dunes State Park one of few places in America where you can still see bb guns left behind by American soldiers during World War II (others being used in movies such as E Pluribus Unum). Since then, bb guns have become an important part of American culture - both abroad and here at home. They've even been used in some high-profile events such as President Obama's inauguration (which took place with several rifles on hand), First Lady Michelle Obama's visit to Fort Hood (where she visited military barracks with children}, Super Bowl XLIX (where 50 firearms were confiscated from spectators), and numerous otherpublic ceremonies throughout our country - all while remaining legal under current laws!

They called it Mohawk Landing, which means "landing place for the Mohawks." The village site was donated by Colengett and others to the Town of Clinton in 1797. The population of Sleepy Hollow peaked at around 2,000 in 1810, but began to decline after that point. By 1870 it had shrunk to just 100 people. However, due to its strategic location as a crossroads for travel between various parts of New York state, Sleepy Hollow continued to be popular with farmers and traders until the late 19th century. In 1814 Nicholas Roosevelt founded Roosevelt Manor on land that once formed part of what is now Sleeping hollow centre. This estate later became known as White Plains Manor and was purchased by George Washington Carver in 1922-1923; he used it as his farmstead until his death in 1948. During World War II many residents who lived near Peekskill Army Airfield deserted their homes to avoid being drafted; they built tunnels under their houses so they could sleep soundly through bombings without fear of being captured or killed by American forces.(This also explains why there are no bridges over streams running through sleepy hollow.)

Sleepy Hollow is a small town located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. It was founded in 1792 by two Yankee farmers, Samuel and John Griggs, who named it after a nearby meadow called Sleepy Glenn. The Griggs family operated a mill here until 1824, when they sold it to the Livingston family. In 1835, Sleepy Hollow was incorporated as a village, and later changed its name to Monroe. In 1902, Sleepy Hollow became part of the newly created Town of Ramapo and remained so for most of the 20th century. However, in 1968 it reverted back to its original name and status as a village. As a result of this change in management, some old-time residents were displaced and their homes demolition began soon after. Since its inception as an agricultural community with few industry options available outside of farming (at that time only animal husbandry), Sleepy Hollow has had strong connections to both local politics and agriculture statewide. In fact, many people still identify with their rural roots here today--even while living within urban boundaries today. The sleepy hamlet's namesake is also important in history: during Revolutionary War days soldiers often stopped at the meadow for rest before continuing on their march westward; hence Griggs' name for his landowning properties near Sleepy Glenn - "sleepiest spot on earth." More recently Hallowe'en celebrations have included trick or treating (a tradition dating back to colonial times) around October 31st - an event which happens especially close to home because there are few other places in upstate New York where you can find all these Witches!
Sleepy Hollow is a census-designated place in the town of Westchester, New York, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. The name comes from the legend of Sleepy Hollow and its headless horseman.
