He also built the first gristmill in what is now Scarsdale Village - an early example of mills being established in this area. For many years after these events, Smith's mill was one of the most important businesses in what is nowScarsdaleVillage. On July 4th, 1907 (the day after America attained independence), Mr., Mrs., and five children were killed when their house collapsed during a storm while they were taking shelter inside; their bodies still remain buried under debris from that night's festivities nearpresentday Crossroads Park! The tragedy has been invoked by various groups throughout history as an opportunity for education about building materials safety; such as those held at Camp Patriot during World War II to teach about Hiroshima radiation victims

On December 15th that year, Scarsdale became one of two villages within Buffalo City Limits with a vote by their citizens to establish themselves as separate municipalities separate from Buffalo City Limits – along with neighboring village of Sleepy Hollow. During World War II much activity took place at Ayscough Forest Park due to its strategic location just outsideBuffalo’s urban boundaries and its close proximity to major military installations including Fort Erie Naval Air Station and Lackland Air Force Base; both located about 25 miles (40 km) northeast of downtown Buffalo[1] . helicopter pads also operated from nearby Rome Army Airfield which was used for training RAF pilots during WWII[2] . As part of efforts to regenerate post-war communities following World War II suburban growth accelerated throughout SabresCity Limits many residents relocated outgrowing their homes particularly around School Hill Road where new housing developments began being built starting in the early 1970s .. Many residents who left during or after WWII never returned while others did so temporarily until they could find permanent homes.. However some older trees still stand today near intersection OF NY 224 AND SUNSET RD.. [3]

In 1802, the town was divided into two parts, one being called East Scarsdale and the other West Scarsdale.
