Browning Arms Limited continued production until 1997 when it was taken over by Heckler & Koch AG who continue production through 2017 as current owner H&K AG

Saratoga Springs was founded in 1788 by George Washington and his wife Martha. The town grew quickly due to its location on the Mohawk River and its easy access to supplies. The population of Saratoga Springs increased from about 100 people in 1800 to more than 2,000 by 1825. In 1827, Saratoga Springs became the capital of New York state and served as the seat of government until 1850. During this time, it experienced a period of rapid growth thanks to its many tourist attractions such as the Saratoga Race Course and the Saratoga Museum of Art. However, during the 1840s and 50s, Saratoga experience significant economic decline due to factors such as natural disasters such as floods and fires. By 1860, however, Saratoga had recovered somewhat and began to attract larger numbers of tourists again. In recent years, however, there has been a resurgence in tourism due to various reasons including interest in history among millennials; availability of food and lodging options in the area; and improvements made over the past few years that have helped make Sarataga Springs an even better place to visit.
Saratoga Springs, New York is a small town in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The population was 3,342 at the 2010 census. Located on the east side of Saratoga County, it is part of the Mohawk Valley and is adjacent to the towns of Oneida and Rome. The first Europeans to visit Saratoga Springs were Dutch traders in 1611-12. They named the springs "Havens" after their Havens River colony in what is now Holland (then Zeeland). In 1764, General George Washington visited Saratoga Springs for two weeks and reported back that it was "a very pretty place". He recommended that others visit as well – including Major General Benedict Arnold who had recently surrendered at Saratoga Bridge. In 1814, John Copley built the first gristmill here and began processing flour from local land for export to Great Britain. By 1830, mills had been erected all around town with a total capacity of 1 million pounds per year. The mill then passed into private hands until 1867 when it became part ofthe United States Steel Corporation which continued to operate it until 1941 when it closed down due to World War II steel production quotas. A new steel plant was started in 1951 by referendum but cancelled due to lack of support among locals; this led to an influx of refugees into town during the early years following World War II who brought with them their artistry and skills in construction; some buildings still remain standing today such as Adirondack Park’s Apple Orchard Pavilion (now known as Sleepy Hollow), designed by noted architect Raymond Hood while also serving as a headquarters for later United States Steel Corp.; also remaining are several churches such as First Congregational and Second Congregational which were constructed between 1865-1875; as well as various other brick or stone buildings dating from this time period including Hotel Westmoreland which burned down in 1907 and replaced by nearby Town Hall; finally there are numerous contributing rural homes scattered through town that provide insight into its past without having any connection to current day residents or businesses
