George Washington Brown purchased one of these mills from Hutton in 1840 and started grinding flour there until 1861 when he moved to Canandaigua to start his own business. The next year, he sold his mill to Isaac Watts for $5 per ton of flour ground that year. By 1860, oats had become an important crop in Upstate New York so much so that Gouverneur Morris sent troops equipped with artillery to drive out Indian traders operating along Oneida Lake under the pretext of enforcing law and Order (the Buffalo Campaign). When they failed to capture or kill any such traders they stopped their attack; however this did not prevent other Indians from coming into contact with European settlers and raiding their farms throughout Upstate New York during this time period In 1887 Unitarian minister Revscius Nevin founded Congregational church which still operates today as First Congregational Church of Olean (ACO). Reverend Nevin served as pastor from 1888 until his death four years later at age 91 years old In 1907 City fathers decided that incorporation would make more sense than continued growth within an agricultural village because larger towns could provide better services such as fire protection,Police Department etc.—thusCity Council adopted Resolution No 2145 dated November 14th 1907 setting forth plans for incorporation of Olean into a new municipality called “Rochester” without giving further consideration to villages within Onondaga County . This action caused great upset among many residents who felt they had been taken advantage of by those whobuquerqueed their town while they languished unprotected . subsequently over 100 villagers signatures were gathered urging Town Clerk Fenton To rescind Resolution No 2145 And allow For Answering Of Questions From Residents re: Incorporation Plans & How They Would Affect Village Compensation
