Ogdensburg, New York is a town in Oswego County, New York, United States. The population was 7,802 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse metropolitan area. The first ammunition store in Ogdensburg opened in 1833. The town was named after Colonel George Cadmus Ogdensburg (1795-1868), an officer of the 2nd U.S. Infantry Regiment who served in Mexico during the Mexican–American War and later commanded a brigade of volunteers under General Andrew Jackson during the American Civil War. In 1881, Ladd's Ammunition & Fire Arms Company became the first commercial ammunition business in Ogdensburg when it bought out John Hargrave's company. In 1907, Mrs. Alice Ladd donated land for a new high school which opened in 1909 and continues to be used today as the Ogdensburgh High School campus. In 1945, two companies merged to form Browning & Co., Incorporated: Winchester Repeating Arms Company and Remington Arms Company; both were headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts until Winchester relocated its production headquarters to Round Hill Plaza near Philadelphia on July 1, 2007; Remington then moved its operations back to Springfield until changed its affiliation from that company on October 15th with legislation by then-Governor Matthew Shea that made Rochester home again for them as well as other businesses moving into what had previously been an empty lot next door to Pequod Boulevard also housing JCPenney until they vacated their space on November 11th for Shoprite Supermarket before coming full circle with their move back inside Pequod Boulevard just one day shy of their 10 year anniversary! All this took place within only 5 months of each other! This growth continued through 2018 when Winchester announced plans to close all but 3 plants across North America including one plant located here at Round Hill Plaza putting an end to over 180 years of production at this facility while also creating hundreds of jobs across six countries! This event has generated significant media interest with various articles being published throughout Upstate New York including one even devoting 4 entire pages!!!

Ogdensburg, New York is a small town located in upstate New York. It was first settled in the late 18th century and became an important coal and steel center during the 20th century. The town was named after Andrew Ogden, who donated land to the community in 1837. Ogdensburg is now a census-designated place (CDP) with a population of 697 as of 2010. The town was originally situated on fertile upland that stretched from Ontario County eastward to Mohawk County. The early settlers were farmers and their families built homes around churches, schools, stores, and other businesses. By 1860, however, most of the original settlers had departed for new settlements or moved away because of hard times. Only one family remained in Ogdensburg until 1865 when it too left for good due to economic hardship. In 1881, two men by the name of Olson purchased 1,000 acres (500 ha) of land north of Ogdensburg from Andrew Ogden for $15 per acre ($253 per km2). They began developing this land into what would become known as Andersons Farms subdivisions which still exist today. In 1888 they erected a large white frame courthouse which remains standing today and currently serves as the local government center for the township and CDPs within it. During World War II there was significant activity at Andersons Farms due to its position as a major coal mine near Syracuse; however no civilian casualties resulted from this mining operation despite serious injuries inflicted on hundreds of workers by German soldiers during 1944–45 operations
