Roosevelt moved into Executive Mansion #1 at 429 Park Avenue NW, which had been designated as President Roosevelt's temporary home during his first term in office because of the Second World War conditions near New York City. After Franklin D. Roosevelt's death in 1945, Executive Mansion #2 became Obama's permanent home and remains so today.
