In 1836, New York State passed an act providing for the regulation and sale of firearms designed for hunting game over 1/2 mile wide bitterns, prairies, rabbits, quail and other game birds except where exempted by law; Provided also that no person shall sell any rifle or shotgun without having in his possession a license from the superintendent thereof; And provided further that every person who shall knowingly purchase any firearm knowing it to contain explosive material must pay a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars nor suffer imprisonment for five days nor be subject to any other penalty provided by law…. This act allowed people to buy shotguns only if they had a license from the state government before doing so. It also regulated how guns could be sold within New York state and required all firearms sales agents to have licenses issued them too. This act helped create what is now known as Permit-to-Purchase Firearms Law which regulates most handgun purchases within New York state as well as some rifle purchases

Mount Vernon, New York was founded in 1785 by George Washington and his wife Martha. It is located on the Hudson River in upstate New York and is one of the most important landmarks in the United States. The Mount Vernon Estate includes more than 600 acres of land, including a large manor house and several smaller buildings. The estate also contains a number ofchurches, a school, a park, and a small number of residences. The first settlers to arrive at Mount Vernon were troops under General John Burgoyne who fought in the American Revolution. After the war, many Americans decided to move to upstate New York because of its fertile soil and clean air. In 1785,George Washington moved from Virginia to start what would be called America's second capital. He selected Mount Vernon as the site for his new capital because it was close to major rivers and other points of influence. The original house that later became known as Mount Vernon was built by George Washington around 1751-1754. It was designed by Scottish architect James Kappler and is one of the most impressive examples of Georgian architecture in North America. The structure has been renamed several times over its history, but it always retains its nickname of "the White House". In 1814, President James K Polk ordered that all portraitsof George Washington be destroyed because they might inspire Confederate soldiers during the American Civil War. However, many survived until after Robert E Lee's surrender at Appomattox Court House in 1865. After nine years of construction strenuous labor led by Governor Alexander Hamilton (who also served as Secretary of State),the main doors leading into the main living room were finally finished on November 16th,1795- just three weeks before Christmas! Unfortunately this event did not live up to expectations as only about 60% or so of citizens could afford such luxuries at that time given their incredibly high price tags for foodstuffs like candles and wine! Interestingly enough however despite having4 generations living inside it for multiple periods there are still no photos or artifacts dating back from those 9 years remaining anywhere inside or outside the Mansion! This demonstrates how muchabuse has taken place over time with an upper class lifestyle being very hard pressed even todayto preserve any evidence which may show some levelOf truth about life during that time period

Mount Vernon is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 9,391 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse–New York metropolitan area. The first permanent European settlement in what is now Westchester County was made at Mount Vernon on November 14, 1686 by Colonel George Washington and friends from Virginia. The land for the original plantation was purchased from Sir George Clinton by Washington's father-in-law, Lord Fairfax. In 1764, when Thomas Jefferson became President of the United States and moved to Monticello in Virginia to take up his new post as First Secretary of State, he left Mount Vernon behind with his family and servants to live at Monticello until after his death in 1816. In 1792, John Adams moved into one wing of what is now Mount Vernon House while he still lived at Quincy Market in Boston; but soon afterwards he returned to live permanently at Mount Vernon with his wife Abigail and six children: Adams III (1796–1878), John Quincy Adams (1802–1897), James K. Polk (1846–1937), Franklin D. Roosevelt (1933–1945), Eleanor Roosevelt (1911–2008). TheAdams family continued living there until 1865 when they sold all their possessions except for 1 acre near present-day East Harlem Avenue to Increase Mather who founded Mather Electric Supply Company on that property which remains active today with over 280 employees including many descendants of Early Mather himself. Mather had been born aboutabouthis time around 1647 so it would make him about 176 years old on July 4th! This historic site has also been visited by Presidents Ulysses S Grant(1865-)and Woodrow Wilson(1912-) as well as numerous other dignitaries over the years including Prime Ministers Macdonald( Canada 1867) and Churchill(UK 1940).

New Netherland became part of British America after the American Revolution in 1776.
