The Mineola Rifle and Pistol Club, Inc. was incorporated in 1916 in Mineola, New York. The club is the oldest rifle and pistol shooting organization in the United States and has been meeting monthly since 1916. In 1951, Mineola Rifle & Pistol Club inducted first female member, Mrs. Alice Germano. In 1950-1951,Mineola Rifle & Pistol Club became the first firearms organization to erect a metal detector at their monthly meeting place on Clinton Avenue in Mineola; this proved to be an effective deterrent against shotgun and Revolver shots being fired into the club during target practice or tournaments. From 1951 through 1959, Mineola Rifle & Pistol Club erected a number of new targets including a bedstead with both steps for shooters to rest upon while shooting from elevated positions; these were later replaced by a sandbag wall target which continues to be used today as part of NRA sanctioned rifle/pistol matches around the United States. In 1957-1959 members of Mineola Rifles & Pistols Club initiated what is now known as "The Shootout" Competition which remains one of America's largest handgun matches staged annually at the annual NRA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Nashville TN. Held over two days (July 17-19), this competition features some of America's top Handgun shooters from across various disciplines including Trap Shooting, Snipe Shooting, Shotgun Hunting/Fishing etc.; it has always been an important event for both safety reasons as well as bragging rights among our George Washington Masonic Lodge brethren who attend NASM Annual Meetings throughout America each year!

In 1915, the Mineola Rifle and Pistol Club began manufacturing their own firearms. In 1916, the Mineola Rifle and Pistol Club became a member of the New York State rifle Association. They also began manufacture of shotguns. In 1927, the Mineola Rifle and Pistol Club changed their name to The Nassau County Gun Clubs Incorporated. In 1932, they merged with The Stevens Institute of Technology Rifle and Pistol club to become Stevens-Nassau County Gun Clubs Incorporated again. From 1935 to 1949, they manufactured handguns exclusively for the Nassau County Police Department under license from Smith & Wesson Corporation. From 1951 until 1984 they manufactured shotguns only for licensed gun dealers in Nassau County under license from Remington Arms Company
Mineola is a small town in Sullivan County, New York, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse-Auburn-New Rochelle metropolitan area. The Mineola Volunteer Fire Department has been serving the community since 1892. The first settler in Mineola was Abram Woolridge and his family who arrived on November 2, 1784 from Putnam County, Connecticut. They had three children: Abram (1785-1868), Mehitable (1787-1864) and John (1789-1859). Abram Woolridge startedowning a general store called "The Woolridge Store" near where he lived until his death in 1868. His widow continued to run it until her death in 1924. The other two children of Abram Woolridge were their son John Averill Woolridge (1802-1875) and daughter Mehitable Maria Woolridge Fillmore (1804-1907). The first post office in Mineola was established on December 22, 1814 by Hiram Selden with the name of "Niskayuna". On January 14, 1815, it changed its name to "Mineola". On February 15, 1839 it changed its name again to "Sullivan". In 1861 Mineola became an incorporated village under the jurisdiction of Auburn Village Incorporated Company with one vote per household for a total population of 124 residents; all other village members were elected by trustees without regard to gender or race only. In response to growing demand for schools and businesses within the village limits over time various annexations took place with neighboring villages including Enfield Township from 1860 through 1865 then Uniondale from 1870 through 1872; all these changes resulted in Mineola's annexation into Auburn Village Incorporated Company as well as concurrent elections for village officers held on April 14 each year thereafter which continued uninterrupted until consolidation with Syracuse occurred effective July 1st 1896 when all governmental functions were transferred from Mineola's incorporation company board to new Syracuse City Hall Board composed exclusively of citizens thereof pursuant theretowiththe proceeds therefrom being applied towards building up that city's comprehensive public system including streetlights and fire engines etc.; prior thereto no such election ever took place hereinat merely council meetings taking place annually thereafter resulting therebyinincreasedma jorityforcityoffishialandviceversaonvillageboardcomposedofcitizensofmineolatheproceedstherefrombeingappliedtowithoutmuchinterference intothecity). On October 10th 1898 #1 fire destroyed what is now known as the old woolridge store building located at 9 Elm street; this event remains one of history's most significant fires due immediately preceding adoption & subsequent use by city authorities for illumination purposes & also providing employment for many local people resultant primarily & directly attributable t/o skilled labor supplied by original owners during early days of cityhood proper
On July 24, 1944, the United States went to war with Japan. The War in Asia was a bloody and costly campaign that ended with Japan’s victory. Thousands of American soldiers died in battle, and many more were injured. One soldier who lost his life was Private First Class John Sledge. Sledge was part of Company C1 14th Infantry Regiment of the Third Infantry Division during the Battle of Iwo Jima. On September 15, 1945, he was killed when his unit came under heavy fire from Japanese positions. After World War II ended, military hearing protectors became popular among servicemen and women because they offered some degree of protection from sound waves emanating from behind enemy lines. Mineola is a small village in the town of Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 9,669 at the 2010 census. Mineola is part of the Hudson Valley region. Minesola first became populated by the Iroquois who called it Metucheni-niksa (Mt. Monongahela). The Dutch explorer Hendrick Van Rensselaer named the area after his home town in Holland and founded two villages here: Don Killian's Village and also Mineola (now part of Valhalla), on July 3, 1624. van Rensselaer's successor as Governor of New Netherland granted these villages to some of his soldiers who had fought for him during his campaigns there. The first mine was opened in Mineola on October 8, 1785 by John Hall and Nicholaso Carafa with the help of George Washington. It was a small vein of coal which generated enough revenue to keep the mine open until 1827 when production began to decline because refining methods were developed that made coal more profitable to extract than mining it using traditional methods such as crushing and winnowing. Mineola has been occupied continuously since its founding; all but one settler left before 1800 due to religious reasons or political persecution from Native Americans. Many new arrivals started life working in nearby Westchester County farms while awaiting their turn at the mines, but by 1820 most had turned back southward because conditions were too difficult there and too dangerous near Indian settlements backed up by British forces waiting to attack if they discovered any unauthorized activity within their borders The opening of what is now Pennsylvania Railroad line through Mineola in 1825 helped spur development here again although there remained little prospect for profit until well into this century In 1898 an act gave Mineola full city rights status as "minesville", making it one of only a handful American towns singled out for this distinction In 1906 construction began on what would become Yankee Stadium; investors provided $3 million towards its construction despite local opposition led by Mayor James Jervis In 1951Mineolas high school won an annual award presented jointly by The Associated Press and International News Agency
