Mineola is a town in Orange County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 36,895. The name "Mineola" comes from the Mohawk word “honeola” meaning “a small stream on high ground” and “olia” meaning “place of (wooden) houses.” Mineola was first settled in 1785 by Pierre-Charles Conte and his family. The first post office was established in 1802. The first school was opened in 1827 and the first hospital in 1830. In 1853, Mineola became a town and built its own courthouse and jail. In 1934, Mineola established itself as an industrial center with production of ammunition, coal mining, steelmaking and other manufacturing activities. The townsite that now includes parts of Westbury Village were annexed to Mineola in 1957 after it became clear that Mineola would not be able to compete with neighboring towns for economic development

As an Unincorporated Village or Town, Mineola escaped most city-sponsored redevelopment efforts but saw some limited changes including the construction of a center for physical education which still stands today adjacent to Memorial Park off Main Street - this facility now houses two high schools (onegrades K-8th), four middle schools (grades 9-12th), three elementary schools (A thru 6th), one soccer team, two chapel services per week with more than 2200 attendees each year (!), six businesses totaling over $500 million dollars ($100 million since 2000) products/services delivered through 137 home delivery service provider(s) generating nearly 100 jobs (+/- 15% annually net income). During this time period also social media played an increasing role such as MySpace which allowed Residents to communicate their thoughts about life here directly to others living nearby without having to go into exile on Long Island Sound like myself

In this way, firearm manufacturers had to come up with methods of attaching parts securely (and without damaging them) in order to maintain accuracy and reliability over time.

The town's growth continued until World War II when it declined significantly due to allied bombing raids which destroyed many of its homes and businesses. After the war, Mineola regained some stability but has not seen significant economic growth since then; nevertheless it remains an important community within Upstate New York's wider culture and economy.
