Minesola became an incorporated village on April 16, 1903 following a vote by the village board. On November 28, 1907, Mineola became a city with a population of 25,000 residents; this was followed by its annexation by Rochester on December 15, 1913. In 1932, Mineola voters passed an ordinance annexing the neighboring towns of Orchard Park and Washingtonville to form what would become the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area which has now increased to over 150 communities within two million people!
