By 1800, binoculars were being sold in local stores throughout the town. In 1824, a new company was founded in Middletown by Ezra Stiles and his brother Samuel. The company developed an improved design called the "Stiles" binocular. The first production model was made with 6 lenses and had a magnification of 80x. In 1826, the company moved its production facility from Middletown to Schenectady, New York. By 1830, Binoculars had become quite popular among settlers in upstate New York and elsewhere throughout North America. They were often used as telescopes on family farms or for hunting and fishing purposes. As technology advanced over time, various improvements were made to binocular designs such as adjustable focus screws and water resistant cases. eventually leading to more efficient viewing devices that could be worn close to the eyes without fear of losing them or becoming lost at night while using optics outdoors

Middletown is a town in Onondaga County, New York, United States. The population was 7,569 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Onondaga County and the only incorporated town in the county. Middletown is bordered by Cayuga to the north and west, Seneca to the east, and Auburn to the southeast. The Town of Middletown was first settled in 1792 by Loyalists from Ulster County who were fleeing British rule. The original log cabin on James Street still stands as a reminder of how early settlers lived. From 1807 to 1830, when it became part of Onondaga County, Middletown was home to Judge John Wertenbaker and his family who made their fortune running a sawmill on South Front Street. Judge Wertenbaker also founded Chautauqua Lake State Park in 1846 which has been called one of America's most popular tourist destinations ever since. In 1865, when Onondaga County was created from portions of Erie and Niagara Counties, Middletown became its second largest town with 1,500 residents; however it had no school until 1881 when it joined up with Syracuse University's College Hill Campus for instruction leading to high school graduation for all students within easy walking distance of their homes - an unheard-of event at that time! Today there are over 10K residents living within easy driving distance including 2 schools (one private) and several businesses including grocery stores & restaurants as well as medical offices & health care facilities! On July 12th 1861 during American Civil War service men from nearby Auburn gathered at Central High School for what would become known as "The Battle of Horseshoe Bend". This crucial victory helped Lincoln win reelection that fall despite being outspent by Southern Democrats relative to recent elections results. Afterward many local dignitaries attended President Abraham Lincoln's inauguration ball given its importance at this time in history; among them were Judge Wertenbaker who officiated along with other notable locals such as Mayor Augustus Fenton Woodbury (1797-1864), Drs Cyrus Hammond (1814-1901) & George Hennepin (1821-1920). In later years many veterans returned home after serving their country abroad while others took up farming or industry returning home during World War II but most notably Main Street still remains today a busy commercial center complete with banks/finance companies/petroleum products etc., much like it did prior to its wartime interruption! It wasn't until after World War II that Main Street experienced any significant development aside from some renovations throughout the 60s through the 80s due mainly to changes brought about by suburbanization which incidentally happened just around the corner courtesy of my great grandparents on East Main Street!! Middlesex Mall opened in 1955 adjacent to IHOP located where now Waterford Place Shopping Center sits across Constitution Avenue from Fordham University’s law school campus

By the 1830s, advances in technology had led to the development of what are now known as high-power binoculars. These types of binoculars typically have five or more lenses, allowing them to provide greater magnification than earlier models. High-poweredbinoculars are still used today for specific purposes such as hunting and skywatching.

In 1916, during World War I, Middletown served as an internment camp for American soldiers at Lackawanna Bayou near Buffalo Niagara Falls. Middletown is located on Route 9W between Seneca Lake and Cattaraugus Lake and lies south of Utica on Anthony's Nose peninsula extending into Erie County to the eastward along State Highway 10/11 to its terminus at Buffalo Niagara Falls. The town has a total area of , including , water frontage on both sides of routes 9W (northwest–southeast) and 10A (southwest). The topography: hilly to gently rolling with some areas having significant elevations above 700 feet; significant forested areas lying within town limits; several streams which flow through or neartown; two golf courses that provide opportunities for sports competition
Middletown was founded in 1788 by John Montresor and his wife, Sarah. The town seat was moved to the current location in 1876. Middletown is located on the Mohawk River and is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Montresor House and the Isaac Brock House.
