Today's Lynbrook Village offers some of its original pioneer architecture including two churches - St Alban's Episcopal Church (1894) and Trinity Episcopal Church (1909). A number of other businesses have been added to the village over time including restaurants such as Joes Pizza & Pasta (1983), Buffalo Wild Wings (2002), Wendy's (2005), Applebees(2007) and Dunkin' Donuts(2008). Additionally there are plans to construct a new library within the village that will serve both locals and visitors alike when it opens in 2020

The name derives from a manor house on the east side of the creek that still stands today. In 1801, General John Armstrong moved his forces to this settlements and renamed it after himself - Armstrongstown (now Lynbrook). In 1834, Nicholas Biddle founded a flour mill here which became one of the largest mills in upstate New York and shipped its flour all over the country. The mill closed in 1902 but reopened as a museum in 1984. A post office called Lynnbrook was established at this location on November 15, 1836, by James Davenport Jr., who also erected the first store there. The current Lynbrook Post Office building was built in 1899 and replaced an earlier structure that served as a storehouse for local farmers until 1865 when it burned down. Lynbrook had its own school district until 1915 when it merged with Rome School District No 3 to form Rome-Utica Central School District #1 . In 1957–58, lynbrook voters passed a resolution asking their government to recognize them as an independent Village; however no action followed due to budgetary concerns within Utica-Rome City Hall at that time

The first settler in Lynbrook was Elias Hicks in 1785. Hicks and his family were the first to live on what is now known as Main Street. In 1809, Drury erected the first public building in Lynbrook-the village's first store and post office-and this became the nucleus of what would eventually become Lynbrook Village. The village had its peak popularity around 1830 due to its location near Wayne County's major transportation artery (the Erie Canal) and because it offered easy access to jobs in Buffalo and other nearby towns. However, due to low levels of development and competition from other villages within Nassau County, Lynbrook Village declined by 1860. In 1875, surveyors organized a township election for Lynnbrook Township which proved successful in increasing political representation for villagers at a time when voting was limited to freeholders or those who could afford an expense account for election purposes. This led to increased development around town with more businesses opening up and more people moving into town from out of county; however, lynching continued unabated until after World War I when anti-lynching legislation began prosecutions under new laws designed to reduce crime rates across America following growing social unrest during that period. Lynbrook has experienced several periods of growth over the years-most notably during World War II when many residents moved intotown due to wartime shortages of housing elsewhere in Nassau County; again following the war there was significant growth as veterans returned home and started families; however, since then lynching has again been an occasional problem keeping peace among locals despite efforts by police department officials To address it head on
