Lynbrook is a town in Montgomery County, New York, United States. The population was 1,736 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls-Toronto, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first gun protection history in Lynbrook occurred on July 3rd 1892 when five men from the town voted to purchase handguns from John D’Angelo who resided in Niagara Falls. On December 11th 1895 nine men from Lynbrook purchased shotguns from A.F. Ladd and Bros., merchants in Syracuse, New York for $5 each. On January 7th 1896 four men from Lynbrook bought pistols from George Wessels at his store on Main Street. This marks the first time that guns were purchasable within the town limits of Lynbrook! In 1903 two new stores were opened within town limits by Frank Blythe and Julius Wehner which increased handgun sales by 50%. On October 15th 1907 a firearms store was opened by Valentin Fogliani with an inventory of 100 handguns and it quickly became one of the most popular firearms stores in lynBrook! In 1916 three more stores were open within town limits including Harry Smith’s Gun Shop which now stands as a museum/gun show place and Jens Petersen’s Sporting Goods Store which still remains active today! Gun violence decreased throughout most of the 20th century but experienced an increase during World War II when many people left lynBrook to serve in our military and some returned home with access to more dangerous weapons than they had before!

Lynbrook is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 12,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Yonkers-Suffolk metropolitan area. The first European settlers in what is now Lynbrook were Dutch and English Protestants who arrived in 1724. They founded a small village on the west side of modern day Lynbrook Manor (now ZIP code 10584). The village was dissolved in 1802 and its land reassigned to other villages within Westchester County. In 1814, General John Sullivan's 1st brigade of the Union army invaded Canada and occupied Albany, New York; this event is commonly known as the Battle of Albany. This action inspired American Revolutionary War general George Washington to appoint him commander of all American forces north of Lake Ontario. In retaliation for Sullivan's attack on Canadian Forces under Brigadier General Edward Braddock at Fort Niagara on July 27, 1814, Washington ordered Major General Anthony Wayne to march south from Niagara Falls with 2 brigades and cavalry to relieve Sullivan at Albany; howeverWayne's march was aborted by rainstorms that prevented his arrival until September 5th when he reached Albany; he then proceeded southward along the Mohawk River valley into Canada before reaching Toronto on September 11th. Lynbrooks earliest settler were two families from England who arrived about 1800: Wm & Mary Fenton (later Lawson) and their son Jameson Lawson (1801-1875). Wm Fenton erected a log cabin near present day Main Street in 1815 and became an early landowner hereabouts. Jameson Lawson married Anna Steuben around 1830settled nearly 4 miles northeast corner of present day Elmira Road/Route 1080 between Bigelow Avenue east/west road line and High School Road northeast/southwest line inside Township lines today called Creek Junction National Wildlife Refuge some time after 1830 or 1840 according to family story but prior to that same year Lucy Ayer Griggs emigrated from England with her husband Lewis Griggs came overlandometime between 1830& 1840 landed mostly along current alignment Of Route 1080 just east side creek junction where now US Highway 9
