In 1853, Long Beach, New York was founded by Henry Wadsworth Long and his family. The town was named in honor of the General George Washington who fought in the American Revolution. When Long Beach became a popular fishing and hunting spot for local residents, he realized that it would be difficult to place an accurate shot without a sight. He commissioned his brother-in-law, Ebenezer Farnsworth to design and make a sighting device for an artillery piece called the “Longboat Gun”. Thisgun consisted of two parallel iron rods with a V-shaped notch in the middle of them. The user could adjust the distance between these rods so that they were aimed at an object on the ground below or within 30 feet of their gun muzzle. By adjusting thisdistance, the user could achieve perfect aim without having to look down at their instrument! A few years later, Farnsworth developed a new sight called “The Sightbot” which was designed for use on rifles and shotguns. Thissight consisted of two crossbars with small circles placed around each one. The circle represented elevation (height above or below ground), while the small dots indicated range (how far away something is). By aligning these dots according to range, users could determine how close their target was to their firearm! In 1864, Farnsworth also developed a new type of sights known as “The Leveler” which allowed shooters to elevate their weapon Heights up to 100 degrees! With all this innovation and progress being made in sighting devices, it is understandable why many people believed that guns were actually just like computers – you could just point them where you wanted them to go! In 1865, Garnet Hill invented what we now call red dot sights which allowed shooters to visually see what they were shooting at without ever having to hold onto anything! With reddot sights becoming more common in firearms starting in the 1970s however – some folks began believing that gun sights had become completely outdated and unnecessary! According to some researchers though – there may be another reason behind this belief: There have been several shootings where people have been killed by gunmen using only red dot sights!

The first permanent settler in Long Beach was Samuel Freeman who purchased property from John Lynch on July 3rd, 1766. Freeman built his home at what is now known as First Street and began trading goods with local Native Americans. He also started a small mill that processed flour and other products from the nearby Otter Creek Stream. By 1800, Freeman had acquired more than 300 acres (120 hectares) of land around present day First Street and Main Street (now called State Boulevard). In 1871, when Long Beach became an incorporated city, it included all of present day Los Angeles County except for some parts near downtown that still belonged to Orange County. At that time there were only 11 townships in Los Angeles County - six within Orange County proper and three east of downtown Los Angeles - so incorporation gave each township control over its own affairswithin its own borders rather than sharing power with other counties or municipalities within LA county." Many factors led to growth in Long Beach during this time: excellent transportation links via Railroad Avenue; easy access to jobs throughout Southern California due to abundant natural resources; large population due largely to Spanish immigration; increasing concern about pollution caused by industrialization; growing demand for housing resulting from burgeoning industry" Additional reasons include improved schools infrastructure (1873 incorporations added nine additional high school districts), protectionist policies enacted by US President Ulysses S Grant following his 1872 Executive Order 14802 which discouraged Chinese immigration while favoring native whites (policies reversed soon after), efforts made by Mayor Donald Wetherbee towards developing self-sufficient community services such as water supply/treatment plants etc., Encouraging opportunities for businesses through zoning laws encouraging more density along arterial streets
