However, over time the community has made significant progress thanks to its volunteer fire department, public works departments such as Streetscape Restoration/ resurfacing of roads and sidewalks, and support from businesses including banks, restaurants, health care facilities and more recently technology companies like Apple Incorporated (AAPL) and Facebook (FB). Today's economy is driven by a variety of industries including health care services; manufacturing; agriculture; retail sales; government services; education; environmental protection;and leisure pursuits such as tourism. With new development ongoing throughout the village center as well as along Route 9W which bisects LINDHURST village limits on the east side thereof - providing plenty opportunity for night life - this should be an exciting year for residents!

The climate here is humid continental with mild summers and cold winters; average monthly temperatures range from 8 degrees to 30 degrees F (2 degrees to 16 degrees C). There is no snowfall here during any month!
Lindenhurst is a small town in New York County, on the east side of the Hudson River. The population was 5,853 at the 2010 census. It takes its name from General John J. Linden (1786-1860), an American general and hero of the War of 1812 who served in Canada and Mexico. The first European settlement in what is now Lindenhurst was made by Dutch settlers in 1666. In 1775, a group of English colonists arrived here too, and soon after began to build a road from Kingston to Albany through this area. In 1787, when George Washington moved his army into New York from Manhattan, he passed through this area on his way to Valley Forge. In 1810, General John J. Linden invaded Canada as part of the Second Seminole War; after successful campaigns against Native Americans he returned home with many Russian prisoners and set up headquarters at Lindenhurst Ferry on Long Island Sound. At one point during this war there were as many as 100 British soldiers stationed at Lindenhurst Ferry - probably including some commandos who had gone ashore disguised as natives! A few years later General James Wilkinson occupied this strategic location during his unsuccessful attempt to invade Upper New York Bay (the Niagara Peninsula) from Quebec City by land route; he abandoned his plan when news reached him that American forces had driven British forces out ofCanada's Ontario Territory weeks earlier In 1814-15 Colonel Isaac Stevens commanded an expedition against Fort Erie which failed due to lack of supplies On September 26th 1861 Major General Augustus Prentiss took over supervision of military operations along Lake Champlain from Brigadier General Nathaniel Hawthorne; hereupon Captain Abraham Lincoln became stationmaster atLindenhurst Ferry . On November 12th 1861 Captain Lincoln reported that "a large quantity"of firearms had just been received fresh off the boatload arriving at Staten Island." This event is generally considered to be when Beginnings Of Industry began near present day Rego Park Drive & Old Bridge Road
