The Town of Lindenhurst was organized in 1814 and named for General Isaac Newton Hull, an American Revolutionary War veteran who had served as a colonel in the militia under George Washington and later administered justice in Westchester County. The first settler to arrive in what is now Lindenhurst was John Kirby; he built a cabin on the site that still stands today. In 1825, James Brown purchased land from Hull for $1,000 cash and laid out a town block bounded by State Road FF (now Route 9) to the north, Main Street to the east, Church Avenue to the south and Dutch Neck Creek to the west. Lindenhurst's growth began slowly but steadily over time due to its strategic location on Lake Ontario – just south of Rochester – as well as its many businesses and passenger vessels docking there during busy seasons such as winter fishing or summer tourism. By 1870, Lindenhurst had over 100 residents and two stores - one run by merchants Jules Borchardt & Sons (later absorbed into Sears), who also did business out of their homeboat "Munroe" moored at Northport Landing on Buffalo Bayou; and another store operated by Halsey & Company which doubled as a post office until 1898 when it moved across Route 9 from nearby East Aurora into new quarters at what is now First Presbyterian Church Building #2 A/B (now known as Saint Catharine's Episcopal Church). In 1892, fresh off victory against Mexico during World War I with President Grover Cleveland presiding over hand-picked Ulysses S Grant’s “Fourteenth amendment” reopening U.S.-Mexicoborder crossings following Mexican president Porfirio Diaz’s August 20 proclamation granting full citizenship rights to all Mexicans living within U.S., Lindenhurst became one of America’s most bustling border towns with numerous factories producing goods for export back into Mexico City via railways running through Canada But despite these boisterous times there were also some tough challenges faced by local entrepreneurs like Jacob Krieger who started his own grocery store in 1902 selling goods only from scratch made without access to any rolling stock or pre-packaged items Krieger went onto become one of history's most successful businessmen with his Kroger supermarket empire stretching across more than 60 countries around the world In 1957 when Interstate 95 reached its present day routing through Wendover Square near downtown Binghamton it seemed like everything would change for littleold town rediscovering her name once again after years dormant since being supplanted by larger towns along I-95 such as Syracuse But then came Hugh Carey who opened up Carey’s restaurant serving up gourmet Italian cuisine until 1984 followed by Harvey Pollack who ran Pollack Liquors starting selling ice cream Social Ice Cream Parlor invented here nexisting 1895

In 1664, the English took over and renamed the colony Hartford, Connecticut. In 1776, during the American Revolution, many of the British colonies in North America were taken over by General George Washington.Lindenhurst was one of these colonies and it remained under English control until 1814 when it became a part of Canada. After Confederation, Lindenhurst became part of the newly created United States of America. The town has had a number of different names over its history – including Haverhill (1624), Westchester (1766), and Eastchester (1814). It is still known as Lindenhurst today. The earliest settlers in what is now Lindenhurst arrived in 1624 and they named their settlement after two friends – Hendrick van der Leeuwen and Nicolaas de Vries – who had come to New Netherland that year from Rotterdam with another group of immigrants. From then on, Lindenhurst grew quickly as a fashionable location for wealthy people to live and conduct business. By 1700, there were already some 1,500 residents living in what is now Lindenhurst. The town was initially developed as an agricultural village but soon began to prosper thanks to its fine white breads and wines which could be bought at local shops or sold directly to consumers. In 1801-02, when Commodore John Fitch sailed upriver from Manhattan into Canada via Buffalo Bayou on his way to become governor general of all North America, he passed throughLindenhurst on his way back down river! This event marked an important milestone for the town as Fitch represented not just American interests but also British ones – he was both an imperialist and a promoter of Canadan nationalism. In 1813-14 Captain Richard Stockton led a troop assault against Native Americans at Fort Niagara which helped create public sentiment favourable towards Anglo-American relations; this event also made Lindsayhurt
