Today it serves as a museum open daily from 9 am until 5 pm Admission is free for everyone except those working at Applecross House which charges $4 per person per day for access to all exhibits inside (except lunch). Another important building from colonial times is Old Meetinghouse which stands today outside of town on Elm Street between Highways 8A & 8B. It served as both a meeting house for worshipers within Lancaster County as well as providing services such as school district administration until 1857 when it became an academy teaching boys above high school level before eventually being closed down due to financial difficulties in 1865 when technology replaced manual learning methods among many other things including agriculture so much so that apples no longerDrove down Main Street but were grown near West Point where now stands Elm Street

It occupies a valley that runs south from the lakeshore to their combined elevation of 633 feet (183 m). The town lies within two National Wildlife Refuge areas: One covering an area including much of what now sits inside the city limits and another stretching from Canandaigua Lake to Seneca Lake. The first settlers in Lancaster were farmers who arrived in 1796 as part of a survey party led by Colonel George Washington's aide-de-camp John Starkweather. In 1800 they formed a post office at what is now called State Road 2 near where Interstate 95 now intersects it; this office served until November 3, 1821 when it was moved to what is now known as Main Street because that road crossed state lines then. In 1824 Lancaster became part of Onondaga County; it remained its county seat until May 24, 1958 when Syracuse took over that role from Lancaster due to population growth within Onondaga County itself despite efforts by both counties to keep pace with each other's growth via annexation/districtization processes; howeveron day 1of Syracuse's incorporation all but two towns in Onondaga County - Amherst and Liverpool - seceded from Syracuse into newOnondagaCounty west of Rome Road with Chatham Township absorbed intoOnondagaCounty on July 1 followingny vote by thenew county Board Of Directors authorizedbytheGovernor thereofwiththe concurrenceoftheNewYorkstate Legislature。 At its peak main business district contained over 100 businesses employing around 3,000 people while also serving as home to five high schools including SUNY Buffalo’s Albion College Campus and Erie Community College’s Clyde Center Campus as wellas numerous small businesses clustered around local churches and religious institutions
