Lake Grove is a small, unincorporated community in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern border of the town of Yonkers. Lake Grove was first settled by Germans in 1785. A post office called Lake Grove was established in 1836, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1892, an oil well was drilled near present-day Lake Grove and production began. The town of Yonkers grew up around this industry and development caused tension between the two communities; however, these tensions eventually melted away. In 1924, a dam across the Mohawk River was built to hold water from White Sands Reservoir for Lake Grove residents. This created a new source of income for the community as developers built homes and businesses near the reservoir. However, due to high water levels resulting from rains during 2009–10,[1] much of the infrastructure behind Dam #2 collapsed and have been uninhabitable since then.[2][3] As a result of this disaster, most residents have left or are unable to return to their homes since they are no longer able to access them.[4] Today, much of what used to be here is still accessible but deteriorated because of weather conditions over recent years including flooding[5][6][7] which has also made many roads impassable; making it difficult for locals and tourists alike to visit some parts even today given how risky it is due to heavy rainfalls that occur annually thereabouts Also make sure not go out at night as Motorcyclists were killed recently when their car got stuck under tree root

Lake Grove is a town in Clinton County, New York, United States. The population was 1,651 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Rochester–on-Hudson Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Lake Grove was Ebenezer Morse on May 12, 1795. In 1824, John Fenton platted this community for his nephew Amos Fenton who had married one of Ebenezer Morse's daughters. At that time there were just 10 people living in village and it took 6 years for the town to gain a post office and 1 year for a school. In 1828 the first steamboat arrived here from Kingston and by 1830 most of the residents had bought boats to fish in the site now known as Geneva Creek which flows into Lake Ontario near where Rochester now stands. The population grew rapidly during the early 19th century with many families moving to this area because of available land or jobs in nearby towns such as Auburn, Lockport and Ithaca (then called Northville). Many homes were built on Round Pond which still stands today although only used sporadically for swimming and boat launching since it is so shallow. By 1870 most of what is now town was developed with 3 stores and about 20 houses along Two Mile Road which ran through center of town between Geneva creek north to south and round pond east to west before joining up with Two Mile Road again south to north at its current location. Settlement continued until about 1880 when several small outposts popped up around Jerome Valley but eventually all development stopped due to high water levels caused by glaciers retreating from across central New Yorkobeach then flowing downriver into Finger Lakes watershed over a period of several decades creating some very large lakes including Erie, Ontario (now Niagara Falls)and Hackensack while also carving out smaller communities around them including Crystal City(later Trump National Golf Club), Bolton Landing(later Westchester Village) and other namesakes still visible today nears Schenectady/Ithaca as well as within easy reach via public transportation or driving directions from Rochester or Buffalo if desired………………………………………..
Lake Grove is a village in the town of Lake Grove, New York, United States. The population was 4,047 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Adirondack Park. The first European to experience what would later be called "the great lakes" was Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1524 when he sailed past the present-day village on his mapping expedition. The first permanent settler in what would become Lake Grove was Peter Schuyler in 1796. He founded Schuyler's Village on the north side of present-day Main Street and named it after himself. In 1828, John Fenton opened a sawmill and grist mill at what is now Main Street and Lewis Road which became an important commercial center for eastern Adirondack Park until 1840 when it closed due to financial difficulties. In 1842, Wm Halsey bought Fenton's mill from him and continued operations until 1860 when he moved his family to Auburn, New York City where they lived for many years before moving back to Lake Grove in 1868. A post office was established at Lake Grove on December 12, 1846, by Rufus Leland with nine mail sacks sent from Auburn daily; however, service was discontinued on November 25th due to population growth in Adirondack Park that year. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of , all of it land. The only water body visible from main streets is Hudson Valley Stream which runs concurrently through both villages' borders
