The history of tasers can be traced back to the 1800s. At that time, there was no recognized standard for electric shock devices and thus they were referred to as “ stun guns”. In 1906, Congress passed the National Firearms Act which regulated gun ownership in the U.S. The act also provided for the development of electricshock weapons such as tasers. The first known use of a taser occurred on October 15th, 1977 when San Francisco police used them against an undergraduate protester who had thrown objects at them during a peaceful demonstration outside City Hall. The protester was subsequently arrested and charged with misdemeanor vandalism and released without charge. However, subsequent protests resulted in increased tensions between law enforcement and protesters and on October 17th, 1977, San Francisco police used pepper spray against an outdoor crowd who hadassembled to picnic outdoors near Golden Gate Park after dark. This event led to the first documented case of use of a taser by law enforcement in the United States. Two years later on November 10th, 1979, Los Angeles Police Department deployed Tasers against civilians protesting inside city limits following the Rampart Scandal cocaine bust which implicated high-ranking LAPD officers in drug trafficking activities overseas. One civilian was killed and three others were injured during this incident which led to increasing public pressure for more aggressive policing tactics by law enforcement agencies across America. Three years later on December 1st, 1983 Los Angeles Police Department deployed Tasers against protestor students attending UCLA campus after several incidents involving motor vehicle accidents caused by students wielding fists or rocks at officers blocking traffic entrances onto campus Since its inception as a weapon system it has been extensively modified both physically and functionally over time including: addition of probes so that it can be used as a lethal weapon; replacement of traditional batteries with rechargeable lithium ion batteries; inclusion of fiberoptic sensors for tracking movement; inclusion within body armor designed specifically for protection from electrical shocks; addition of software that allows users to customize how they should operate their device (eased manual training) Today there are two main types(of) tasers: single shot/pointed device (SSD) while other variants exist such as "shockwave" type which fires multiple shots simultaneously

Lackawanna, New York is a town in Erie County, New York. It is the county seat of Erie County and part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The population was 54,521 at the 2010 census. Lackawanna was first settled by Europeans in 1736 as Nanticoke Township. In 1784 it became part of the newly created Clinton County and later that year became a part of the new Erie County. The town's name comes from a creek called Lackawanna which flows through its center. The first settler in what is now Lackawanna was Nicholas Henshaw who landed oncleaned land near present day Niagara Falls on June 12, 1736. Henshaw named his ranch "Lackawananda" after his original Creek Indian source village located about six miles downstream on the Mohawk River known as "Tippecanoe". A post office called Nanticoke was established at Nanticoke Landing on January 15, 1800, and remained in operation until September 1806 when it was moved to Utica because of an increase in mail traffic across the Niagara River from Buffalo to Niagara Falls. By 1840 there were 16 residences and 130 acres (50 ha) of farms in what is now Lackawanna Village; only three years later all but one family had left for other parts of Upstate New York due to hard times during the Panic Of 1837-38 along with much restlessness throughout upstate New York consequent to financial difficulties brought about by factors such as overproduction caused by increased British importation rates following opening of new American colonies including Canada and Texas). Numerous mills were built during this time including Johnstown Mill (1811), Sayre & Whitney's Factory (1819), Richter Brothers' Manufacturing Company No 2 (1824), JH Goodrich & Sons' Machine Shop(1830) and Herrick Bros.' Foundry(1831). These facilities produced cotton gins, looms for spinning cloths and machine tools among other items before being replaced by more modern factories during World War II when local production shifted to war materials like aircraft parts or shipbuilding equipment etc.. In 1839 James Purdy founded what would become Lackawanna Academy where students could study without having to go off farm or find employment outside their homes which then led to many young men choosing education over working their way up through village politics or farming families while others found opportunities too good to pass up such as John Morse who started out working at JH Goodrich & Sons' Machine Shop before becoming mayoralty candidate in 1861 replacing David Lloyd Garrison Jr.. Morse would also serve two terms as Governor from 1865-68 followed by another term from 1871-75 both times winning landslide reelection margins thanks largely to Republican support despite opposition from some within his own party along with popular verdicts handed down against him by statewide grand juries although he did appeal these decisions.). As Factory Output declined After 1830 various small businesses closed down unable or unwilling to compete with larger factory outputs resulting in job losses for many residents which then sent prices for goods rising causing debtors’ imprisonment/poverty leading finallyto mass migration away from rural areas towards cities during industrialization phase giving rise along with social unrest culminatingin Civil War era America where vast numbers died due primarilytobattlefields losses rather than disease pandemicErie Canal construction helped create strong economy resurgence beginning around 1920 making way for large scale immigration into city limits paralleling growth seen elsewhere throughout Northeastern United States
Lackawanna was originally a part of theSynopsis Towns, which were villages organized by the New York State government in 1824. The name Lackawanna comes from the Lenape word "alusanka," meaning "the great bay." The first white people to live in Lackawanna were Dutch farmers who arrived in 1664. In 1794, Englishman John Smith discovered and named the area after his home town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A post office was established at Lackawanna in 1825, and it continued serving until 1903. In 1829, a canal was built through central New York to connect Lake Ontario with the Susquehannock River. This helped promote development along the waterfront and created new jobs for local residents.
