Kenmore is a town in Monroe County, New York, United States. The population was 9,811 at the 2010 census. It is the only town in Monroe County. The village of Kenmore was merged with the town of Webster on December 1, 2006. The first settlers in what is now Kenmore Township were farmers who arrived around 1793. They named their land for John Forbes, an officer in the British army who had fought against Americans during the Revolutionary War. In 1814, James Laughlin and his family moved to what is now Webster from nearby Elmira and began to farm there also. By 1821, they had erected a gristmill and built a sawmill on the stream that flows through their township. In 1827-28, Lucius Noyes platted what would become Kenmore Township on land he donated to the state of New York as part of a larger project to create new townships throughout central New York. At first, only men were allowed to donate property; but soon women and children also contributed land to this new township system. The first settler in what became Kenmore Township was Caleb Warner followed by others over time until it included all of Webster and portions of Deer Park, Allegany (now northern Montgomery), Livingston (now eastern Onondaga), Oswego (now southeastern Onondaga), Cayuga (now western Clinton), Niagara (now eastern Erie) and Orleans counties. On July 16th, 1837 – two years after Alexander Macdonald located what would become Niagara Falls – commissioners from five adjacent towns met at the falls to organize a company for surveying purposes along both sides of river below Niagara Falls into which future towns could be founded as various surveys showed potential sites for communities including Rochester Hills on Ontario side and Lockport on Buffalo side near where today's City Hall stands. Town lots were available for purchase at $200 per acre! This indicates just how rapidly these newer settlements sprang up as people sought ways to make money off this newly discovered gold field! The original platting meeting took place under heavy rain so no public buildings were built but several private homes did stand including one known as "the White House" which still stands today within walking distance of downtown Kenmore proper! A post office operated from October 17th1837 until its closure on February 14th 1861 due largely to lack of mail traffic despite being open six days a week! Even today remnants can still be seen inside current day Main Street building dating back to that early 1800s outpost! As more entrepreneurs flocked into this developing area some stores quickly opened up such as Smith & Wesson Co., later becoming Macy's Incorporated while others such as Joplin Brickworks remain active well into our present day era having even been featured in Time Magazine! Today much has changed since Settlers fishediously blessed that stream with fresh water not long after arriving however many basic staples like milk are still produced here such as cheese etcetera unchanged by modernity...Kenmore continues its proud history which includes being home ground’s Toomey siblings who represented Canada internationally while playing football at Central High School

Kenmore is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The first settlement in what is now Kenmore was made on July 6, 1806 by Nicholas Jones and John Knowles from Connecticut. In 1807, James White established a farm about two miles east of where today's Kenmore stands. The first post office opened in 1809. In 1830, the village of Bradford was formed out of parts of both Kenmore and neighboring village of Rome Township. On November 3 that year, the village was incorporated as a town under the name "Kenmore". A fire destroyed most of Bradford on December 5th; however, it did not kill any people or damage any property. In 1840, part of Rome Township (now Canandaigua) became detached from KenMORE until it merged into Niagara County within five years. On January 1st 1860, Niagara County divided into two counties - Ontario County to the south and Erie County to the north - with KenMORE remaining within Erie County only until 1870 when it changed its name back to "Kenmore". From 1870-1920s much development took place in what are now downtown areas including residences for farmers and professionals such as bankers and insurance agents; along with factories which produced items such as bicycles and radios. One important business activity during this time period were many black marketeers who operated out ofTrinity Methodist Church near Main Street And Third Avenue because African Americans were not allowed inside white businesses at that time
The Kenmore House is a historic structure in the town of Kenmore, New York, United States. It was built about 1785, and is a two-story wood frame building with a gable roof. It has an Italianate style design and is made from fieldstone. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
