In 2016, Mayor Lovely Warren announced that the city would be moving its main library from its current location on Elmira Road to downtown after over 20 years of service there. Downtown Kenmore contains many buildings dating back to before 1825 when settlers started settling hereabouts with some built specifically for coalmining purposes such as the defunct Cumberland Coal Mining Company Store which opened in 1825 and remains one of only three buildings left standing from that era within downtown Kenmore today! Other notable landmarks include: First Lutheran Church (founded 1827), State Capitol Annex (built 1905), General Motors plant (1912), Erie County Courthouse Annex (1890) and Tower Place Nursing Home/Senior Living Facility (opened 1978). Today's downtown Kenmore also contains many large businesses including Macy's department store; GEICO; Toyota; Perfect Pizza; Ford Motor Company dealership; Sears Department Store; H&M clothing store; Coca Cola Refreshment Center and several restaurants including BJ's Restaurant & Brewery and Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery Restaurants!

In 1857, Nicholas-Jacques Conte patented a design for an expanding gun that would accept rounds other than the traditional musket round. This gun was called the "Conte Gun." The first production models of this gun were made in 1858 and successfully trials were conducted then with troops in Italy. However, due to financial reasons, the company went bankrupt and all assets were sold off.
Kenmore, New York is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 5,711 at the 2010 census. The village of Kenmore was annexed by the town in 1955. The first European to arrive in what is now Kenmore was Nicholas Saraceno, who landed there on July 4th of 1614 on his ship "Raja" and claimed the land for Spain. He named the spot "Cruz del Cerro." In 1795, John Jacob Astor bought 2/3rd of the town from Nicholas Saraceno for $10,000. In 1827-28 George Washington Lewis donated 3 acres (1 ha) of east side of town to help build a schoolhouse and common bond election held on November 1st resulted in approval for a village charter with a population of 150 residents. The village name was changed to “Kenmore” on February 14th, 1829 after Washington Lewis's donation had been accepted by Supervisor Elias Boudinot and Town Clerk Nathan Hale. On May 9th 1857 Trustee James Hickey reported that all titles deeds were destroyed when fire destroyed Kenmore post office building; however no damage was done to any other property within or outside the limits of Village Limits which included most of current day Kenmore including parts now located in Buffalo and Hamburg NY
Kenmore was a small town in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York, United States. At the time of its incorporation in 1812, it had a population of about 350 people. The town's first post office opened in 1814; it closed in 1840. In 1851, Kenmore became part of the newly formed Town of Rome. In 1865, when Rome was renamed Kenmore, the town's population had grown to 1,600 people and it remained an agricultural center until the early 20th century. By 1910, most of Kenmore had been destroyed by forest fires; however, some remnant buildings can still be seen today. In 1912-13, Kenmore hosted the state fair which is now known as the Finger Lakes Fairgrounds
