Gun targets have been a common sight in Johnson City, New York for over a century. The first target pistol was designed by Captain Samuel Colt in 1837 and the first shotgun in 1847. Many of the early settlers were attracted to Johnson City because it was a strategic location on the Susquehanna River close to other settlements in what is now Pennsylvania. The town grew rapidly after General John Forbes captured it from Native Americans during the American Revolution. In 1779, Captain James Cook sailed past Johnson City on his way to find India and discovered that the area had been abandoned by its original inhabitants. This discovery led to new development in the town, which was renamed for Commodore John Humphrey Warner after he explored and mapped parts of Central America for British forces during the War of Independence. During World War II, local businesses supported military activities by producing munitions and equipment needed by war efforts such as artillery, submarines, planes, tanks, ships, and more. Some of these businesses also produced target pistols and shotguns for sale to civilians who visited their stores or ranges during wartime times. Today’s target pistols are made from steel or aluminum alloy frames rather than wooden stocks and are often equipped with adjustable sights (normally iron sights) for accuracy purposes. Shotguns are typically made from brass or plastic receivers with adjustable stock heights so they can be aimed at different depths without having to take off your glasses). All you need is an air compressor (or use an air rifle), some lead shotshells (3-5 lb rounds only works well if they have shot tips on them so they don’t break when striking your target), some black Jell-O shotshells (they make great practice ammo!), some paint (any color will do - just make sure it won’t get on yourtarget), some sandpaper (to smooth out those rough edges), something sturdy enough to stand up against yourtarget's recoil (a heavy table works great), a drill bit large enough to fit through your hole where you want the barrel threads onto yourgunstock(optional but helpful!), one wire brush (if using metal muzzle devices like suppressors etc.), safety goggles/face shields if using live ammunition/ammunition launchers/revolvers etc.,and most importantly time!

Johnson City is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse-Albany-New Rochelle metropolitan area. Johnson City is named for General James K. Johnson and his wife Sarah Maxwell (née Cramer). The first settler in Johnson City was John Bowman who arrived here in 1795. He built a log cabin on the north side of Main Street. The first post office was established here in 1812 and had three occupants: David Mott, John Bowman and James Fenton. In 1825 the village acquired land from the state of New York for $1,000 cash and built a schoolhouse on what is now Main Street. In 1830 Wm Sibley erected a store on West First Street which remained in business until 1836 when it burned down due to an electrical fire that caused widespread damage throughout the town. In 1865 General James K. Johnson came to this area from Utica and purchased some land east of Albany where he founded what would becomeJohnson City Academy which became one of America's leading high schools; originally known as "Johnsonsville High School". After serving as Superintendent of Schools in Syracuse for 28 years he retired here in 1978 after many years service with that community; having also been Mayor twice (1975-1977) and Supervisor five times (1929-1935). In 1898 Josephine Blythe donated her home two miles south of downtown Johnson City to provide municipal services including water supply, lighting, street paving and more importantly educational opportunities to local children during their formative years; continuing today as "Josephine Blythe Elementary School" with over 900 students grades pre-K through 8th grade operating under one roof! Today much has changed within our small community including new construction projects such as the new library/hub building completed in early 2018 adjacent to Joeine Blythe Elementary School while also providing expansion space for both facilities; adding even more convenience & amenity options available within minutes' drive!

Johnson City, New York is a small town located in the Catskills of upstate New York. It was founded by John Johnson in 1825 as part of the Town of Johnson. The present-day town was formed from parts of five other villages in 1892. Johnson City has a population of around 6,000 people and is the most populous community within the boundaries of Albany County, New York. The first permanent settler in what is now Johnson City was John Johnson who arrived there in 1825. He and his family built a log cabin on Horseshoe Pond which they named "John's Cabin". In 1828, he erected a larger cabin on the site which became known as "Johnson's Logging House". The settlement continued to grow until it had a total population of around 100 people by 1840. By 1860, the population had reached 300 people and by 1870 it had grown to 350 people. During this time period, local farmers began to export corn and wheat to neighboring towns such as Troy and Schenectady for market. In 1892, seven additional villages were merged into Johnson City including Addisonville (now part of Yonkers), Brookline (now part of Westchester County), Emorytown (now part of Rockland County), Hermonville (now part of Westchester County), Larkspur (now part of Monroe County), and Northumberland Heights (now part of Saratoga County). This merger created an even more populous community with a total population over 6,000 people at its peak. Today, Johnson City remains oneofthe most populous communities within Albany County with over 1/3rd its residents living inside the city limits alone! Many aspects about life in Johnsons Cities during this time period are still evident today including their strong agricultural roots; their close-knit community spirit; their reliance on Seventh Day Adventist ministers for religious services; and their support for local businesses both large and small
Johnson City is a town in Chenango County, New York, United States. The population was 3,871 at the 2010 census. Johnson City is part of the Rochester–Mohawk Valley region. The first permanent settler in Johnson City was Nicholas Biddle in 1797. Biddle and his family were among the earliest to arrived in what is now Chenango County after being driven out of Pennsylvania by Native Americans. They built a cabin on the east side of the Chenango River, across from present-day downtown Johnson City. In 1827, Nicholas' son Joseph built a log cabin on the west bank of the river across from today's Main Street. By 1830, both father and son had passed away; their heirs continued to live there until 1865 when all but one line of descendants died out. In 1828, Aaron Burr bought 2 lots (now southbound US Route 19) adjoining Nicholas Biddle's property for $50 cash and began to build an Erie Canal dock thereon which became known as Burr Dock Park today. In addition to Burr Dock Park, he also founded what is now Central High School (later renamed Eastman School) and constructed several other buildings within the community including Alexander Hamilton Elementary School (1829), Methodist Episcopal Church (1830), Pioneer Chapel (1831), Masonic Lodge No 1 near present-day Main Street Subway stop (1832), and Empire State Building ironclad prison labor mill complex called "The Plantation" (1833). In 1835/36 Jonas Salk developed an experimental vaccine against smallpox at his lab located on current day Elmira Road between Main Street and Elmira Creek; this event helped spur commercialization of smallpox vaccination with resultant increase in world population immunity rates overall After American Civil War ended in 1865, most everyone left town except for a few farmers who continued farming until around 1908 when they too discontinued operations due to changing winds or other factors
