In 1607, Jamestown was the first English settlement in North America. It was founded on an island in what is now Rhode Island by the Dutch. The English wanted to trade with the Dutch, and soon found themselves at war with them. In 1608, English forces landing on Rhode Island discovered a Native American village called Woonsocket (now Providence). The English were able to take control of the village and its inhabitants were taken into slavery. Meanwhile, back in England, Parliament had passed a resolution calling for all Protestants to be registered as gun owners. This led to an arms race between the Protestant and Catholic sides. By 1609, the English had acquired over 1,000 firearms from the Dutch. They also began building Fort Christina in Narragansett Bay so they could blockade Dutch ports. Meanwhile, back at Woonsocket Village, many of the women started stockpiling food and weapons so they could fight if necessary. On November 5th of that year, a large party of English soldiers landed on Woonsocket and captured most of the natives inside their homes. Somehow or other, these invaders managed to choke off one of the native's air supply sources which caused him to die quickly from lack of oxygen. With this event happening right in front of his people, it seems like some sort of sign oracle must have known about this attack beforehand – something that might have Forexchokes been preparing for weeks beforehand! The Indian Massacre at Woonsocket Village served as a rallying cry for manyEnglish colonists against their Spanish neighbors who were still living among them centuries later… even though those Spaniards themselves had nothing but Hatred towards all Indians!

The first permanent English settlement in New York was founded by the Dutch in 1624 on the site of what is now Jamestown. The colony quickly grew and by 1633, there were over a hundred people living there. The English claimed the land for themselves in 1636, but the Dutch still retained some influence in the colony. In 1641, they ceded all their land to England, effective at that point English control over New Netherland totaled only sixteen miles wide and ten miles deep. By then, however, many of the original colonists had died from diseases brought over from England during the Plantation Period (1609-1664). In May 1645, King George III issued a proclamation declaring Jamestown an open air capital of New York “forasmuch as its present state cannot be supported without it”. He also ordered that all Native Americans who lived within two miles of Jamestown should be vaccinated against smallpox and made to receive food and shelter from White men. This order led to a series of skirmishes among white settlers and native populations along what is now Route 9W between Virginia Beach and Suffolk County. After several months of fighting, Virginians John Smith (the leader) and Christopher Newport landed on Long Island on July 4th with about seventy men including women and children to explore new lands west of Manhattan. They failed to find any gold or other valuable resources but did encounter friendly Indians who helped them build houses at Gunston Hall near modern day Westchester County while they continued their exploration northward past Warwick Castle into Ulster County where they found coal deposits worth £2 per tonne! On October 12th Jameson's Rangers finally succeeded in unloading 3 tons of cannonballs at Fort Nassau which forced Orangeburgh governor William Johnson to offer his surrender on November 2nd after four days of combat drawn mainly by Indian attacks on whites living inside Fort Nassau’s walls. Although this event signaled an end to English control over New Netherland – for good – warfare between Indian tribes continued until 1713 when Hudson's Bay Company was organized
The first Europeans to visit Jamestown in 1607 were the French. The English settlers soon after arrived and began building their own buildings. In 1614, the English granted land to the Dutch in what is now New York City. The English continued to build their own structures until they abandoned Jamestown in 1642.
