Some bolt action rifles also offer an option for a scope mount which allows you to attach an optic such as a spotting scope or windscreen while hunting or target shooting. Semi Automatic Rifle Stocks – A semiautomatic firearm uses some form of trigger control instead of pulling the gun every time it fires cartridge rounds like bolt actions do. During World War II, Harrods Department Store sponsored a gun competition that resulted in the creation of the world’s first assault rifle, the .50 caliber M1 Garand (which is now known as an AK-47).
Hempstead is a small town in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 8,814 at the 2010 census. Hempstead is the county seat of Nassau County. It lies on the southern tip of Long Island and shares borders with Farmingdale to the north and East Northport to the east. The village of Hempstead was first settled in 1664 by Dutch colonists from Utrecht, Netherlands. It became part of New York State in 1724 as part of Albany County. In 1825 it became a part of Suffolk County after New York gained statehood. On July 16, 1846, during the American Civil War, Union General George McClellan ordered his forces to cross over into Nassau County from Suffolk to force an entrance into Long Island through Hempstead village center; this event is widely considered to have started the Battle of Long Island (aka The Great Bridge Battle). In 1917–1918 Hempstead served as both headquarters for British General Bernard Montgomery's Third Army during Operation Neptune's Spear and First World War veteran Major-General Sir John French's Ninth Army during The Hundred Days which led up to World War II; these two operations were also known as "The Mud March." Hempstead has seen some growth since its inception as a small community: in 2000 it had a population of 711 residents; however, this number increased by 2% each year until 2007 when its population reached 8,814. Today many people commute into Manhattan or other large metropolitan areas for work or pleasure; however, there are still many people who live close enough to enjoy all that Hempstead has to offer including excellent schools (including one private high school), shopping opportunities (including nearby Walmart), entertainment options (like several movie theaters within walking distance), and beautiful rolling countryside complete with farms and lakes if desired.

Hempstead, New York is a small town located in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Hempstead was first settled by Dutch and English colonists in 1624. The history of Hempstead begins with Dutch settlers who arrived in 1624. They were farmers and traders who traded with other towns along the Mohawk River valley. The area that now includes Hempsted was part of Albany County until 1784 when it was transferred to Westchester County. In 1825, James Longstreet purchased land on which he built a log cabin called "Hempstead". He named his settlement after his friend Nicholas Hempton, an American Revolutionary War veteran who had helped him purchase some land near Albany. In 1864, local citizens voted to become a Village. On October 14th of that year, Mayor John Fenton certified that villages could begin issuing their own currency - tickets for one dollar each were created exclusively for villagers! The following year saw more milestones for hempstead as it entered into full commercial production: A harness shop opened its doors; an insurance company opened its office; and a bakery came online! By 1912, hempsted had become home to over 100 businesses! In 1914-15 there were several large accidents which caused extensive damage to the town center including $5000 worth of property damage done to buildings within two weeks! This led directly to Mayor Harry Hinds' decision not to rebuild because he felt that such an investment would only add insultingly significant amounts of money onto already tight budgets! However, due credit crunch times later in 1915-16 this changed as many residents decided they did not want their taxes going towards repairs/replacement instead they wanted new infrastructure like sewers and streets built! This shift can be seen as another example how during tough times locals pull together (and often do so without government help) order being restored across multiple sectors throughout industry What Thanks For?
